Aberdeen vs Celtic Prediction: Nygren the man to watch at 10/3

Celtic will continue their pursuit of Hearts at the top of the Scottish Premiership table when they travel to Pittodrie Stadium to take on Aberdeen on Wednesday night (20:00, live on Sky Sports Football).

The visitors jumped ahead of fierce rivals Rangers into second place at the weekend, while the hosts are in seventh spot heading into Wednesday's tussle. Read on for my Aberdeen vs Celtic predictions, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

The hosts will be without Kristers Tobers, Mats Knoester, Gavin Molloy and Nicholas Suman due to injuries, while Graeme Shinnie will be suspended after his red card against Kilmarnock at the weekend.

As for Celtic, Alistair Johnston, Callum Osmand, Jota, Marcelo Saracchi and Cameron Carter-Vickers remain sidelined.

Kasper Schmeichel is expected to start between the sticks for the visitors, while Benjamin Nygren and Tomas Cvancara will lead the line after both managed to get on the scoresheet against Falkirk last time out.

Aberdeen are 13/2 for this contest, the draw is 18/5 and Celtic are 2/5 favourites, giving them an implied win probability of 71.4%.

Benjamin Nygren to score first @ 10/3

Celtic marksman Nygren has scored in three successive games for the Bhoys and in his last four starts.

The Swede has five strikes in his last seven appearances for Martin O'Neill's side and he opened the scoring when the pair met back in August, as well as the last time the two teams locked horns at Celtic Park.
