Spain’s opener produced five goals, and it would be no surprise to see their second game at the 2025 Euros follow suit.

With Spain likely to rack up the goals, it is unlikely Gonzalez will be the only scorer. Alexia Putellas was another standout performer against Portugal, pulling the strings from midfield and netting once, and the two-time Ballon d’Or winner should shine again in Thun. 

Putellas scored 16 goals in just 24 Liga F games last season, and she is an expert at timing her runs into the box. The Barcelona star is also Spain’s penalty taker, further enhancing her appeal as an anytime goalscorer option.

Jill Janssens to be booked

Belgium may have lost their opener, but they were not disgraced in their 1-0 loss to Italy, and Elisabet Gunnarsdottir may name an unchanged side for this clash with La Roja, meaning forward Jill Janssens could continue to play as a makeshift right wing-back. 

Janssens usually plays as a striker for Hoffenheim, for whom she picked up six yellow cards last season, but Gunnarsdottir’s system has seen her deployed in defence.

Belgium will be under the cosh against Spain, and continued pressure from La Roja could leave an out-of-position Janssens exposed, especially as she will predominantly be dealing with tricky Barcelona winger Claudia Pina.
