Spain begin their final Euro 2024 preparations with a friendly encounter with Andorra at Estadio Nuevo Vivero on Wednesday night (20:30), with La Roja hoping that they can secure their first European Championship title since 2012.

There is no disputing that since that tournament, Spain have fallen short of the high standards they had set themselves between 2008-12, and people still wonder if they have what it takes to return to the top in Europe. Below I have outlined my Spain vs Andorra prediction, accompanied by match odds and team news.

Spain vs Andorra Betting Tips

  • Spain to win 4-0 @ 9/2
  • Ayoze Perez first goalscorer @ 7/2

Spain vs Andorra Betting Tips

Spain are the clear favourites to win this match at 1/150, giving them an implied probability of 99.3%. Andorra are priced at 50/1, which gives them just a 2% chance of victory. The draw can be backed at 25/1 (3.8%).

Both teams to score is marketed at 3/1 and over 2.5 goals is on offer at 1/7.

Team News

Spain boss Luis de la Fuente has been in the post for 18 months now and he is about to take charge of his first major tournament at the Euros. There will a lot of pressure on his shoulders and having selected a preliminary 29-man squad this summer, he needs to carefully select those who will make up the final cut of 26.

Against Andorra, we could see him experiment with his starting XI to give those who are considered fringe players a chance to show their worth to him. Real Betis attacker Ayoze Perez could be in line to make his debut, as could Barcelona's Fermin Lopez.

It is doubtful we will see Nacho, Joselu or Dani Carvajal feature here after their inclusion in the Champions League final with Real Madrid on Saturday. This could mean that we could see an opportunity arise for the likes of Marc Cucurella and Jesus Navas to start in defence.

Berto Rosas, Marc Vales and Iker Alvarez have returned to the Andorra squad after missing out on the last camp in March.

Spain to win 4-0 @ 9/2

With there being no value in backing Spain to win, I've had a crack at guessing the correct score. I feel as though 4-0 is a somewhat safe selection because even if De la Fuente's lineup is heavily changed, I still think there is more than enough quality in the second-string XI to blow Andorra away.

In three of their last four outings, Spain have scored at least three goals, but with the Euros just over a week away, the hosts will want to head into the tournament full of confidence and with a couple of convincing performances behind them.

I expect them to score a few here and I do believe that 4-0 is a fair scoreline to go for. Especially when you consider that even if they don't start, the likes of Dani Olmo, Alvaro Morata and Ferran Torres can all make cameos from the bench. Collectively, that is a lot of firepower.

Spain 4-0 at 9/2 Ayoze Perez first goalscorer @ 7/2

Wednesday could mark a huge milestone for former Newcastle United and Leicester City man Perez, as he seeks to make his debut for La Roja.

The 30-year-old recorded nine goals with Betis in La Liga this season and he has fully merited his selection in this preliminary squad. If given the opportunity to face Andorra, he will want to deliver a performance capable of getting him into the final 26-man list, and I believe that he can put himself in a strong position.

I think we can witness Perez have a dream debut in which he finds the back of the net. His odds to score anytime were not the most valuable, which is why I have gone for him to score first.

Should De la Fuente give the new faces a chance to impress, I expect Perez to take it and put himself in the frame to make the final squad in Germany.
