Southampton have put their mixed start to the Championship season behind them and will look to continue their promotion push against Bristol City on Wednesday.

Saturday's 1-1 draw at Huddersfield extended the Saints' unbeaten run to nine games and, as of writing, they sit fourth in the Championship, six points and seven places above the Robins.

City head to St Mary's on the back of their first win under new boss Liam Manning, beating Middlesbrough 3-2 and they too will be eyeing a push for the play-off places.

However, Southampton's squad depth is among the best in the Championship and they will be confident of grabbing a fifth home win of the season.

Captain Adam Armstrong has thrived under the added responsibility of wearing the armband and has 10 Championship goals for the season.

He has been in particularly good form in recent weeks, scoring three in his side's last four games and those with longer memories will remember that he netted twice against the Robins in 2019-20 when playing for Blackburn.

The 26-year-old struggled to make the grade in the Premier League but is the real deal in the Championship and is a good price to add to his tally for the campaign.
