Both teams to score

Fatigue may be an issue for Newcastle as they held on for a draining 0-0 draw against Milan in the Champions League at the San Siro on Tuesday.

Eddie Howe is likely to rotate his squad for this clash and Sheffield United have shown themselves to be a threat this season.

Both teams have found the net in each of the Blades’ last four Premier League matches and they could take advantage of any tiredness in the Magpies squad.

It has also been a case of goals on both sides in four of Newcastle’s last six league games and the same is fancied in what may be an entertaining affair.

Cameron Archer to score at any time

Sheffield United have plenty of injury issues coming into this clash and they have not been helped by Oli McBurnie’s suspension after he was sent off against Tottenham last weekend.

Fellow forwards Daniel Jebbison and Rhian Brewster will miss out so Cameron Archer is likely to lead the line for the Blades.

The former Aston Villa man has already opened his account in the Premier League, netting in his side’s 2-2 draw against Sheffield United.

The 22-year-old has the pace to cause Newcastle’s back line plenty of issues and is fancied to get on the scoresheet in this one.

Kieran Trippier to be shown a card

Only Bournemouth have conceded more fouls than Newcastle’s 64 this season and Kieran Trippier has played his part in that tally.

The right-back has already been shown a card this season and is fancied to pick up another in this matchup.

He was cautioned on five occasions last term, receiving a card against Liverpool, and if he drives forward could leave himself vulnerable to counter attacks.

Over 15.5 Newcastle shots

Sheffield United have conceded comfortably the most shots in the Premier League this season, with 113 in just five games.

That is 13 more than the runners-up on that tally and could be vulnerable to conceding plenty of attempts on goal against Newcastle.

All five of the Blades’ league games this season have seen their opponents have at least 16 shots and with the range of attacking options at Howe’s disposal, there is expected to be plenty of goalmouth action in this one.
