Sevilla vs Real Madrid Prediction: Arda Guler set for a goal?

Real Madrid travel to the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on Sunday to take on a Sevilla side that secured safety with a victory on this ground in midweek.
There’s therefore nothing really riding on this game, given Real Madrid’s title hopes ended on Thursday night, as Barcelona won La Liga courtesy of a derby victory at Espanyol.
Our La Liga Betting Expert is here with his Sevilla vs Real Madrid Predictions as he gives us his in-depth preview on the match, which is set for kick-off at 18:00 on Sunday evening.

Truth be told, it was last weekend’s Clásico that effectively ended the title race. A 4-3 win for Barça left Los Blancos needing a miracle, and they are now faced with a slightly strange period as Carlo Ancelotti’s oversees his final two games before departing to take charge of Brazil, with the club hopeful that Xabi Alonso will be in charge for the Club World Cup which kicks off next month.
Real Madrid responded to their defeat in Barcelona, with a 2-1 victory over Mallorca in midweek. Despite a huge number of injuries, Los Blancos did dominate that game, firing in 39 shots as they peppered the goal of Leo Román who was in inspired form for the Balearic Islanders.
The relatively sparse crowd at the Santiago Bernabéu had to wait until the 95th minute to celebrate the winning goal though, with young defender Jacobo Ramón the unlikely scorer of it.
Given the extensive injury problems that Madrid are currently dealing with, the 20-year-old is again likely to start this game, while even forgotten man Jesús Vallejo could feature again in defence, with Carlo Ancelotti set to be missing four centre-backs.
There was also just a second league start for Endrick against Mallorca. While the 18-year-old Brazilian still has many years to develop his game, it’s clear that he’s not quite of the level that Real Madrid need just yet, and they’ve been heavily reliant on Kylian Mbappé over the past few weeks.
The Frenchman has netted seven goals in his last four games, and is now on course to win the Pichichi, with a three-goal lead on Robert Lewandowski in that race. His 28-goal haul in La Liga is the most any Real Madrid player has managed in their debut season at the club, bettering the legendary Alfredo Di Stéfano’s return of 27 in the 1953/54 campaign.
Mbappé is likely to spearhead Real Madrid’s attacking threat again in this game, against a Sevilla side that can breathe a sigh of relief having finally secured safety by virtue of a 1-0 victory over Las Palmas on Tuesday night.
They’d picked up just two points from their previous eight matches. Four straight defeats cost García Pimienta his job in April, with 69-year-old Joaquín Caparrós installed for his fourth spell in the Sevilla hotseat on a caretaker basis, but making little initial impact.
The squad was forced to stay overnight at the training ground only last weekend after angry protests followed their 3-2 defeat to the 10 men of Celta Vigo, with supporters currently furious at the direction the club is heading under its unpopular president José María del Nido Carrasco.
To their credit, Sevilla’s players did put in a solid performance in difficult circumstances in midweek, with young striker Álvaro García Pascual scoring the only goal on just his second start in La Liga.
They can no longer be relegated, but remain on course for a third straight bottom-half finish. Prior to that, they had spent 21 successive seasons as a top-half team, and even a victory over Real Madrid in their final home game of the 2024/25 season would merely paper over the deep cracks that clearly exist at this club.
Team News
Sevilla are missing Rubén Vargas, Akor Adams, Tanguy Nianzou and Diego Hormigo due to injuries. They also have a major doubt over defender Kike Salas, with 22-year-old Ramón Martínez on standby to make just his third start in La Liga.
Caparrós has shown a bit more faith in the club’s homegrown players than his predecessor, but he’s not expected to make major alterations to the side that won on Tuesday. The Sevilla caretaker boss may opt to bring Nemanja Gudelj in for a bit more physicality in midfield though.
As for Real Madrid, Ancelotti is again set to be missing around half of his squad for what is his penultimate game at the helm. Antonio Rüdiger, Raúl Asencio, Éder Militão, Dani Carvajal, Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga, Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo, Brahim Díaz and David Alaba are all expected to be out due to injuries.
Therefore, we should see a similar lineup to the team that started against Mallorca on Wednesday. Aurelien Tchouaméni is available again following suspension though, and looks certain to start the game, either in defence or midfield. Andriy Lunin and Lucas Vázquez are also expected to be fit enough to make the matchday squad in Seville.
Real Madrid head into this match as the 5/6 favourites. You can back the Draw at 11/4, while Sevilla are available at 3/1 to secure a second home win of the week.
Los Blancos haven’t lost on this ground since a 3-0 defeat in 2018, but their selection issues certainly leaves that record in some danger here. If you like the look of the hosts, you can back Sevilla or Draw at 19/20 in the Double Chance market. Over 1.5 home team goals is on offer at 13/8, while you can back Both teams to score at 4/7.
You can also back Real Madrid and Both teams to score at 11/5. Real Madrid -1.00 Handicap is priced at 21/10, while you can back the visitors to score over 2.5 goals at 9/4.
Inevitably, Mbappé is likely to offer the main goal threat for the away team. You can back La Liga’s top scorer to score first at 3/1, while he’s priced at 9/10 to score anytime.
Sevilla’s best player this season has been winger Dodi Lukebakio. The Belgian has scored 11 times in the league, and he’s on offer at 13/2 to score first and 2/1 to score anytime in this match.
Bet 1 - Sevilla to win either half @ 13/10
Real Madrid are down to the bare bones currently, with Vallejo the only senior player on the bench in midweek, with Ancelotti needing to turn to the B-team to complete his squad.
They may have one or two more players back here, but it’s still going to be an under-strength Madrid squad that travels to Seville, and Ancelotti will again have few convincing options to bring off the bench.
With the pressure off the home team, and a crowd that always gets up for this fixture no matter the circumstances, I’m expecting a competitive performance from Caparrós’ team and I’m backing Sevilla to win either half at 13/10.

Bet 2 - Arda Güler to score anytime @ 16/5
One of the few bright lights for Real Madrid over the past few weeks has been Arda Güler. The Turkish international has endured a frustrating season on many levels, but he’s been afforded more minutes of late and has scored in two of his team’s last four league games.
Güler has certainly got an eye for a spectacular goal, and he had six shots in midweek against Mallorca. Given the expected absences of Vinícius and Rodrygo, the onus will be on the 20-year-old to provide much of Real Madrid’s attacking spark again in this game, and I’m backing Güler to score anytime at 16/5.
