Torino vs Pisa Prediction: 4/1 & 7/2 picks for Thursday cup action

Torino’s frankly ridiculous start to the Serie A season takes a back seat on Thursday when they turn their attention to a Coppa Italia second-round clash with Pisa at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino (21:00 local, 20:00 BST).
Marco Baroni’s side suffered a second pasting at the weekend, but they have also beaten Roma away from home. So my Torino vs Pisa predictions, which follow below with full team news and Betfred’s latest match odds, will have to foresee which Toro might turn up.
Torino vs Pisa Betting Tips
- Torino to win & both teams to score (Price Boost from 10/3) @ 4/1
- Half-time/Full-time: Draw/Torino @ 7/2

Team News
Baroni will have changes in his mind following the eight-minute collapse which saw Torino concede all three goals of their 3-0 defeat to Atalanta on Sunday.
The likes of Valentino Lazaro, Giovanni Simeone, Ivan Ilic, Kristjan Asllani and Zakaria Aboukhlal could all get the evening off as the head coach looks to shake things up.
That could mean starts for Marcus Pedersen, Faustino Anjorin, Cyril Ngonge, Cesare Casadei and Duvan Zapata, the latter of whom came on for the last 20 minutes on Sunday but had a penalty saved shortly after his arrival.
Pisa gaffer Alberto Gilardino will have been buoyed by his players’ fight as they very nearly claimed a draw in a five-goal thriller against champions Napoli on Monday.
Just like Barone, he is likely to rotate some of the forward positions though.
Idrissa Toure, Samuele Angori, Matteo Tramoni and Henrik Meister could all come in, with M’Bala Nzola, Mehdi Leris, Marius Marin and Giovanni Bonfanti in line to be given at least the start of the night off.
Torino vs Pisa Predicted Lineups
- Torino: Israel; Coco, Maripan, Ismajli; Pedersen, Anjorin, Casadei, Biraghi; Ngonge, Zapata, Vlasic
- Pisa: Semper; Canestrelli, Caracciolo, Lusuardi; Toure, Akinsanmiro, Aebischer, Angori; Moreo, Tramoni; Meister
Il Toro are a 4/5 chance for the win with Betfred, with Pisa 18/5 and the draw in 90 minutes priced at 9/4.
The Granata are 2/5 to progress to the third round by whatever means necessary, while Pisa are 7/4 to book a December trip to Roma in the round of 16.
Torino vs Pisa Stats
- Torino have scored just two goals from 46 shots this season, while Pisa have netted twice from 50 in normal play
- Toro won the previous fixture between these sides back in 2016, triumphing 4-0 in extra time after a goalless 90 minutes
- Of the 26 clubs Pisa’s Juan Cuadrado has played against at least five times, only Torino have failed to be on the winning side against him (P19, D8, L11)
Torino to win & both teams to score (Price Boost from 10/3) @ 4/1
This might seem a stretch given the relative inactivity of the two forward lines this season, but the two defences certainly suggest goals could be scored in this fixture.
Toro have conceded eight times this term, with all of those accounted for in the heavy defeats to Inter (0-5) and Atalanta (0-3).
Meanwhile, Pisa’s last clean sheet came back in the first round of this tournament, when they edged past Cesena on spot-kicks after a goalless 90 minutes. Even the penalties were a shambles, with only three of 10 attempts scored.
Then they were excellent for long spells against Atalanta but could easily have shipped a few goals after the Orobici’s equaliser. And they followed that up with a home defeat to Roma which was 1-0 going on 4-0 at times.
So while I back the Granata to win, I’m on the hunt for value. And I see it in the respective back lines. If the forwards can just play ball and feel a release from the pressures of Serie A football, then that 4/1 price boost from Betfred looks like a gift.

Half-time/Full-time: Draw/Torino @ 7/2
With plenty of firepower likely to be kept in reserve on the two benches, and lots of tactical to-and-fro to be considered before the break, it seems best to back this one to come alive later rather than sooner.
Prior to their first-half surrender against Atalanta, there had been just one goal in Torino’s four opening stanzas this season. And in Pisa’s five games thus far, there have been just three first-half goals.
So I’m thinking this will be another slow burner given the way the two sides’ matches have tended to explode post-interval in 2025/26.
At 7/2, the implication is that a half-time draw turning into a home win is a 22.2% probability. But if Toro are to get through this one I can see that being exactly how the match unfolds.
