Stadio olimpico roma lazio scaled

The number of teams left in with a shout of winning the 2025/26 Coppa Italia will be whittled down to nine on Tuesday when Roma host Torino at the Stadio Olimpico (21:00 local, 20:00 GMT, live on Premier Sports 1).

These clubs have 14 Coppa titles between them, but the last success for either was back in 2008 when the Giallorossi clinched their ninth crown. My Roma vs Torino predictions follow, complete with full team news and match odds from Betfred.

Team News

Both head coaches could be set to shuffle the pack, as is the general trend for the Coppa Italia.

Expect to see the likes of Jan Ziolkowski, Devyne Rensch, Bryan Cristante and Stephan El Shaarawy come back into the reckoning for the home side.

Gian Piero Gasperini won’t, though, be able to call upon Neil El Aynaoui, who is still at the Africa Cup of Nations with hosts Morocco.
Roma also have Artem Dovbyk, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Leon Bailey, Tommaso Baldanzi and Evan Ferguson out injured.

Torino are without Ivan Ilic, Zanos Savva and Perr Schuurs due to various ailments, while Adam Masina – like El Aynaoui for Roma – is away with Morocco.

Roma vs Torino Predicted Lineups

  • Roma: Svilar; Ghilardi, Ziolkowski, Hermoso; Rensch, Pisilli, Cristante, Tsimikas; Soule, El Shaarawy; Dybala
  • Torino:Israel; Tameze, Maripan, Coco; Lazaro, Casadei, Anjorin, Vlasic, Aboukhlal; Simeone, Adams

Roma vs Torino Odds

The Giallorossi are not tipped to make the same mistake twice.

Following their 1-0 home loss to Torino in Serie A in September, they have two attempts at revenge this week between Tuesday’s cup clash and Sunday’s league trip to Piedmont.

They are 4/7 for the cup victory at the Olimpico, making a Roma win an implied 63.6% probability. It’s 11/2 with Betfred for il Toro to record a second shock success of the season over their hosts (15.4%)

The draw is an 11/4 hope, while Paulo Dybala is a 7/2 shot for the opening goal of the game.

Roma vs Torino Stats

  • Torino have won just twice in 16 visits to Roma in Serie A, but that includes their 1-0 victory there in September
  • The Granata won the clubs’ previous meeting in the Coppa, also at this stage and in the capital, in December 2017 (2-1, under the late Sinisa Mihajlovic)
  • Of their 26 games in all competitions this season, 18 Roma matches have been decided by a single goal

Today's Football Fixtures

Handicap +1: Tie @ 11/5

Roma’s last three wins have come at a relative canter, brushing aside Genoa (3-1), Lecce and Sassuolo (both 2-0) by two-goal margins.

On the whole, though, the Giallorossi haven’t sent teams packing, and even their defeats have been tight. All nine of their losses have been by a single goal, while the same is true of nine out of their 17 wins.

And this one shouldn’t be too different. The loss of Dovbyk for the next two months and the short-term lay-off for Ferguson means they are light on clinical firepower up top.

So I see them being the better side but only just getting past a stubborn Toro. The 11/5 for a tie in the Handicap +1 market means this one has a 31.3% implied probability.

Football Odds

Cesare Casadei to Receive a Card @ 18/5

Having committed a team-high 2.8 fouls per game, there’s no surprise that Cesare Casadei leads Torino’s bookings list for the campaign.

The former Chelsea and Leicester City midfielder, who was on Inter Milan’s books as a youth teamer, has been carded five times already this term.

His aggressive approach to tackling makes him a prime candidate for a card, making the 18/5 on offer rather generous. I’m happy to take that on.
