Sascha Britschgi will come in for Parma, with boss Cuesta set to bolster the back line for the vist of the capolista.

Elsewhere, Jacob Ondrejka should continue up top ahead of Patrick Cutrone.

For Inter, there are still absences involving Denzel Dumfries, Matteo Darmian, Tomas Palacios and Raffaele Di Gennaro.

One of Marcus Thuram, Lautaro Martinez and Pio Esposito will be left out of the starting XI, with the former potentially rested. Manuel Akanji will likely be on the bench, with Stefan de Vrij starting.

To call Parma’s games of late barren is to be generous. Only a 1-1 draw with Sassuolo on Saturday ended a run of three 1-0 results.

The Crociati’s fixtures haven’t been a brilliant watch, but that has been down as much to their strength at the back as it has been about their inability to make and take clear-cut chances.

Against the league leaders, they are hardly likely to be deadly. And Chivu has cajoled a steely edge from his Inter side in the final third too, with 12 goals scored in their last five league games.

If I have one bone to pick with Chivu, it is that Bonny arguably gets underplayed.

That said, when he finally started to get a run in the first XI, the Frenchman then had the setback of picking up a bug before being ruled out due to a niggling injury.

But there’s surely going to be a bit of gametime thrown his way on Wednesday as he comes up against his former teammates. And his record suggests he could get on the scoresheet if he does.

With four goals and four assists in 12 appearances (seven as sub) totalling 435 minutes, Bonny has player the clincher role well.

The 4/1 about him scoring the final goal looks a snip in that context.
