Lecce vs Fiorentina Prediction: Viola fancied to continue good form

Team News

Lecce boss Eusebio Di Francesco is still without Medon Berisha, Francesco Camarda and Kialonda Gaspar for this clash, while Sadik Fofana recently suffered a serious knee injury and is out for the foreseeable. 

Riccardo Sottil is on loan from Fiorentina and is eligible to feature, but he’s suffered with a back issue recently so may miss out. Nikola Stulic and Walid Cheddira will try and fill the goalscoring void that Camarda has left up top.

Paolo Vanoli will hope that Moise Kean passes a late fitness test to feature in this one having missed both legs against Crystal Palace through injury. He was close to a return for the second leg, but left out, so I would expect him to return to the squad for this key clash.

Niccolo Fortini and long-term absentee Tariq Lamptey are still unavailable, while  Fabiano Parisi is a doubt. Marco Brescianini has resumed training and could be involved in some capacity. 

Lecce vs Fiorentina Odds

Lecce are priced at 23/10 to win this game, with Fiorentina the 6/5 favourites, giving them an implied win probability of 45%. 

A draw is 23/10, over 2.5 goals is 11/10 and BTTS is 10/11. In terms of goalscorers, Kean leads the betting in the standard market at 4/1, although he has been boosted to 5/1 by Betfred.

They may have not done enough to turn the tie around, but Fiorentina’s 2-1 second-leg victory over Crystal Palace should certainly give them hope heading into the final furlongs of the regular season. 

Under Vanoli, they have put together an impressive string of results to move away from danger, going unbeaten in their last five league outings - including a 1-1 draw with probable champions Inter Milan. 

That has taken them up to 15th, eight points clear of Lecce, who currently sit inside the relegation zone. They have not been able to rally in the same way, losing their last four games in a row. I think this one will go with the form book. 

Correct Score: Lecce 0-2 Fiorentina @ 10/1

I like to back a correct score every now and then, and this clash at Stadio Ettore Giardiniero certainly appeals. We shouldn’t see too many goals, with only 38% of Lecce’s matches seeing over 2.5, and the hosts have struggled to score lately. 

Lecce have only scored one in their last four, and none in their last three outings, while Fiorentina’s good form has seen them concede just twice in their last six Serie A fixtures. They should be able to bag a couple here, and keep the hosts out, so the 2-0 win appeals at 10/1.
