Inter Milan vs Pisa Prediction: Target-man Thuram to topple the Torri

Serie A leaders Inter Milan have the opportunity to go six points clear at the top on Friday when they meet Pisa at San Siro (20:45 local, 19:45 GMT, live on Betfred.com and DAZN).
The Nerazzurri have something to prove after Tuesday’s Champions League defeat to Arsenal, and struggling Pisa are arguably the perfect side to face next. Below are my Inter Milan vs Pisa predictions, along with the latest team news and Betfred’s match odds.

Team News
Inter boss Cristian Chivu could welcome back Marcus Thuram, Alessandro Bastoni and Petar Sucic among his starting XI.
The latter may be a late call, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan the one likely to drop out if the Croatian gets the nod.
Denzel Dumfries, Josep Martinez, Rafaelle Di Gennaro and Hakan Calhanoglu are all still unavailable.
Skipper Antonio Caracciolo is good to go for Pisa after serving a suspension, while Ebenezer Akinsanmiro is back with Alberto Gilardino’s squad following his Africa Cup of Nations exploits with Nigeria.
Mehdi Leris, Rafiu Durosinmi, Henrik Meister, Matteo Tramoni and Stefano Moreo are battling over three spots in the starting line-up.
Inter Milan vs Pisa Predicted Lineups
- Inter: Sommer; Bisseck, Akanji, Bastoni; Luis Henrique, Sucic, Zielinski, Barella, Dimarco; L Martinez, Thuram
- Pisa: Scuffet; Calabresi, Caracciolo, Canestrelli; Toure, Marin, Aebischer, Angori; Moreo, Tramoni; Meister
Inter are prohibitive favourites to win the game, with Betfred listing them at 1/7 for the three points which would double their lead at the top of the table.
Pisa, on the other hand, are 16/1, implying a 5.9% of them leaving the Meazza with just a second win of the campaign.
The draw is 13/2, while Lautaro Martinez is the 5/2 favourite to net the night’s opening goal.
Inter Milan vs Pisa Stats
- Inter have won all 10 matches they’ve played against bottom-half teams so far this season at an aggregate score of 25-4
- The Nerazzurri’s 5 wins at San Siro against sides 11th or lower have included a 5-0 (v Torino), 4-1 (v Cremonese) and 3-0 (v Fiorentina)
- Thuram has hit the target at least twice in 6 of his 12 starts in Serie A this term
Handicap +2: Inter -2 @ 13/10
Inter are the highest-scoring team in Serie A this season. By 10 goals, no less.
They don’t mess about, it’s fair to say. And they’ve already made an example of better teams than 19th-placed Pisa, hammering the likes of Torino, Cremonese and Fiorentina at San Siro.
Chivu has them playing at a great intensity, especially against Italy’s more provincial outfits, and I just can’t see Pisa keeping this one close.
The 13/10 on offer for Inter to win by three clear goals is generous, given everything, with its implied probability of 43.5% looking on the low side.

Marcus Thuram to Have 2 or More Shots on Target @ 10/11
Sometimes, Thuram can have off nights. You know, the kind of ‘four shots, none or one on target’ kind of fare.
But he can also punish porous back lines, with his threat being constant. Inter ought to have plenty of territory and possession against this Pisa outfit, and the Nerazzurri number nine should cause some issues as a result.
He’s going at a 50% hit rate for the season when it comes to making the keeper work at least twice, and that should be easily doable against the second-worst team in the league.
