Inter Milan vs Lazio Prediction: 11/4 bet on the cards in Inter win

The fascinating four-way battle at the top of Serie A is set for another twist on Sunday night when second-placed Inter Milan face Lazio at San Siro (20:45 local, 19:45 GMT, live on TNT Sports 1).
Cristian Chivu’s Nerazzurri started the weekend one point off the top, but a defeat could see them lose considerable ground. My Inter Milan vs Lazio predictions are below, along with full team news and Betfred’s latest match odds.

Team News
Chivu is looking to keep his Inter side on a roll, and he has Marcus Thuram back in contention to start after the Frenchman came through the final 20 minutes against Kairat Almaty in midweek.
Thuram should get the nod over Ange-Yoan Bonny so long as he convinces the medical team he is fit to do so.
Manuel Akanji, Alessandro Bastoni and Hakan Calhanoglu are expected to be back in the first XI, but Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Matteo Darmian, Raffaele Di Gennaro and Tomas Palacios won’t be back until beyond the international break.
For Lazio, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Taty Castellanos, Matteo Cancellieri, Nuno Tavares, Alessio Romagnoli and Nicolo Rovella are all due back after the two-week break, while Samuel Gigot is about a month away from match fitness.
Maurizio Sarri will bring in Oliver Provstgaard for the start at centre-back in Romagnoli’s absence.
Inter Milan vs Lazio Predicted Lineups
- Inter: Sommer; Akanji, Bisseck, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Sucic, Dimarco; Thuram, L Martinez
- Lazio: Provedel; Lazzari, Gila, Provstgaard, Marusic; Guendouzi, Cataldi, Basic; Isaksen, Dia, Zaccagni
Such big favourites are Inter to win this one that they are 1/3 to pick up the victory. Lazio are a huge 8/1, with the draw a 4/1 chance.
Lautaro Martinez and Bonny are 10/3 joint-favourites to bag the first goal of the contest, with Thuram 7/2. A bunch more Inter players can be found in the market before you get to a Lazio star, with Boulaye Dia considered their best shot at 11/1.
Inter Milan vs Lazio Stats
- Only once this season (3-3 v Torino, MD6) have Lazio been involved in a game in which both teams have scored
- Inter have scored in 14 straight games since their 2-0 defeat to Fluminense at the Club World Cup in June
- Four of the last six meetings between these two have been won to nil by Inter. The other two were score draws
Inter to Win to Nil @ 23/20
The Nerazzurri are starting to really look like a formidable outfit.
Sure, they lost a barnburner to Juventus early in the season and have since gone down to champions Napoli, but they have really looked anything other than in control other than that.
With Lazio coming to town, they have to fancy their chances this weekend. The Biancocelesti are a side who have too often found it difficult to show any real likelihood of breaking back into a game in which they’ve fallen behind.
And Inter have so much quality in the forward department that they should get on top early and squeeze the life out of Lazio thereafter.
It’s a 23/20 shot for the home side to win without conceding, implying a 46.5% probability of this one coming good.

Mario Gila to Receive a Card @ 11/4
You’ve got to expect that Inter will have the better of the possession and territory in this one, so I’m looking at the Lazio centre-backs for cards at San Siro.
Gila actually doesn’t have the worst of disciplinary records. But just as he fell foul of the referee in the Derby della Capitale loss to Roma, I’m thinking he’ll have quite the job on up against Lautaro Martinez primarily.
The former Real Madrid youngster is also trending slightly under his career pace for yellow cards, so expect that to be pushed back towards the mean on Sunday at the Meazza.
