Team News
Verona interim boss Paolo Sammarco is without the suspended Amin Sarr for what is his first game in charge following the sacking of Paolo Zanetti.
There’s also no Tomas Suslov, Rafik Belghali, Armel Bella-Kotchap or Roberto Gagliardini due to injury.
Pisa also hand the reins to a new boss after appointing former Palermo midfielder Oscar Hiljemark to replace Alberto Gilardino. The ex-Italy striker had presided over just one win in 23 games this term.
Hiljemark can call upon new signing Felipe Loyola, but fellow newbie Samuel Iling-Junior is unavailable. Juan Cuadrado, Daniel Denoon, Raul Albiol and Isak Vural are all out with injuries.
Hellas Verona vs Pisa Predicted Lineups
- Verona: Perilli; Slotsager, Nelsson, Valentini; Bradaric, Serdar, Al-Musrati, Bernede, Frese; Orban, Bowie
- Pisa: Scuffet; Canestrelli, Caracciolo, Bozhinov; Toure, Loyola, Aebischer, Angori; Moreo, Tramoni; Durosinmi
The oddsmakers have had a job on here trying to pick a favourite, but it's Verona who have the edge as hosts.
The Scaligeri are 5/4 for the win, with Pisa considered a 23/10 chance, implying a 30.3% probability of a debut win for Hiljemark.
It’s 11/5 about the draw.
Hellas Verona vs Pisa Stats
- Verona are 8 without a win (D2, L6) since their only two victories of the season (v Atalanta and Fiorentina in December)
- Pisa haven’t won in 12 matches (D5, L7)
- Pisa’s 11 draws are a league-high, while Verona’s 8 are topped only by the Torri and Atalanta
- Gift Orban has fired in at least 2 accurate efforts in each of the last 2 Verona home games
Draw @ 11/5
The new coaches make this one a slightly more difficult game to call, but essentially neither side feels backable right now.
Verona have been desperate for most of the season, with their back-to-back wins in early December proving a real anomaly when set beside their otherwise-futile campaign.
As for Pisa, well they certainly know how to frustrate opponents, hence their league-leading 11 draws this term. But they just don’t have the firepower to make the most of periods of dominance.
So with the high draw rates of both clubs, it seems sensible to back further futility at the Bentegodi. The 11/5 odds imply a 31.3% probability… Have the oddsmakers watched these teams this season?!

Gift Orban 2 or More Shots on Target @ 6/5
You often hear about players who cover every blade of grass. Well, Gift Orban has probably had a shot from every square inch of the pitch.
The Nigerian attacker has hit the target at least twice in six of his 16 starts this term, as well as in one of his four substitute appearances.
His seven goals and two assists make him a real threat, and his willingness to test a keeper from any and every opportunity means he’s a great player to back in this market.
