Genoa are still missing the injured quartet of Albert Gronbaek, Benjamin Siegrist, Maxwel Cornet and Junior Messias.

Jean Onana is heading back to the club following Cameroon's Afcon elimination, although he is unavailable for this contest.

As for Cagliari, they are without Alessandro Deiola, Andrea Belotti, Mattia Felici and Michael Folorunsho due to injury.

It hasn't been much better for Cagliari, who have picked up just one win in their last five assignments and have won one of their last eight away matches in the league.

In what could be a game devoid of attacking quality, the chances of this becoming a scrappy contest look high, and that could result in the referee brandishing some cards.

One player who could be in trouble is Cagliari defender Sebastiano Luperto, who was cautioned in November's reverse fixture and has picked up three yellows in his last eight appearances.

Luperto has made at least two fouls in his last three matches and has been pulled up by the referee at least once in nine of his last 11 matches, so he clearly likes to get stuck in.
