After failing to win any of their first 15 Serie A games this season, Fiorentina appeared to have turned a corner in late December, triumphing in three of their next six (D2, L1), but last Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Cagliari has brought them back down to earth.

On Tuesday (20:00 GMT, Premier Sports 1), La Viola take on Como, who have won five of their last seven games (D1, L1), in the last 16 of the Coppa Italia. Below are my Fiorentina vs Como predictions, supported by all the latest team news and match odds, ahead of this midweek meeting at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence.

Team News

Tariq Lamptey (knee), Fabiano Parisi (thigh) and Moise Kean (ankle) are out injured for Paolo Vanoli's Fiorentina, but after making his debut as a second-half substitute in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Cagliari, Leeds United loanee Jack Harrison could make his first start for La Viola on Tuesday.

Football Odds

As for Como, head coach Cesc Fabregas must make do without the injured trio of Assane Diao, Alvaro Morata (both thigh) and Edoardo Goldaniga (heel).

Fiorentina vs Como Predicted Lineups

  • Fiorentina: De Gea; Kouadio, Pongracic, Ranieri, Fortini; Mandragora, Nicolussi Caviglia; Solomon, Brescianini, Harrison; Piccoli
  • Como: Butez; Van Der Brempt, Carlos, Ramon, Moreno; Caqueret, Da Cunha; Kuhn, Baturina, Addai; Rodriguez

Fiorentina vs Como Odds

Fiorentina, who lost both home games against Como last year (0-2, 1-2), are 21/10 underdogs to triumph in regulation time on Tuesday, implying a 32.3% probability of success.

The visitors, who have won their last three away matches, all by a 3-0 scoreline, are 13/10, or a 43.5% chance, to secure victory in 90 minutes, while the draw, which would send the tie to a penalty shootout, is offered at 9/4.

La Viola are 11/10 in the To Win Tie market, with I Lariani priced at 4/6.

Fiorentina vs Como Stats

  • COM have won their last three away games 3-0
  • COM triumphed 2-1 away at FIO in Serie A last September
  • Addai (COM) scored the winner

Match Result - Como @ 13/10

Two defeats from their last seven games mark a big improvement from Fiorentina, and they’ve avoided defeat against some big sides in that run, including Lazio (2-2), AC Milan (1-1) and Bologna (1-2).

However, their vulnerabilities were exposed again by Cagliari last Saturday, and they now take on one of Serie A’s most in-form clubs, Como, in the Coppa Italia.

Como have scored nine goals and kept two clean sheets across their last two games, beating Lazio 3-0 in Rome before hitting Torino for six at home on the weekend.

Fabregas’ charges have impressed on their travels this season, losing just three of their 11 away matches (W5, D3), and they’ve won four of their last six, including all three post-Christmas.

Today's Football Fixtures

I Lariani bested La Viola 2-1 in Florence on September 21, fighting back from Rolando Mandragora’s sixth-minute opener to level through Marc-Oliver Kempf in the 65th before securing all three points in the fourth minute of stoppage time via Jayden Addai.

The strength of Como’s squad was shown on Saturday as a couple of their substitutes, Maxence Caqueret and Nicolas-Gerrit Kuhn, grabbed a goal apiece, and the former registered an assist for the latter’s strike.

Even if Fabregas makes wholesale changes on Tuesday, we can still expect a quality starting XI, and with no European football, his side can make major moves in the Coppa Italia.

Fiorentina, meanwhile, have progressed to the Uefa Conference League knockout phase, and currently sitting in Serie A’s relegation zone, they might feel that the Coppa Italia is at the bottom of their priority list.

Anytime Goalscorer - Jayden Addai (COM) @ 11/4

Dutch forward Addai, who joined Como last summer from Eredivisie outfit AZ Alkmaar, has made a positive start to life in Italy, netting three times in his first 10 Serie A appearances.

One of those strikes came against Tuesday’s opponents, Fiorentina, at their Stadio Artemio Franchi, which is the venue for this week’s cup tie, so he heads there with a fond recent memory of playing in Florence.

Addai missed six successive games for Como due to injury, but he returned to their matchday squad on Saturday as an unused substitute against Torino.

The 20-year-old could start on Tuesday, but even if he is only brought on for the latter stages, he is worth considering in the Anytime Goalscorer market, as his goal against Fiorentina in September came as a second-half substitute.
