Cremonese vs Hellas Verona Prediction: Verona can collect a much-needed three points

Serie A bottom club Verona need points to ease their relegation fears and a trip to Cremonese could offer hope to the Yellow and Blues.

The home side are winless in their last six Italian top-flight matches and La Cremo were thumped 5-0 at Juventus in their most recent contest. Jamie Vardy is set to lead the Cremonese line, but Davide Nicola’s men may need more than just the threat of the former England forward. Read on for my Cremonese vs Hellas Verona predictions.

Giuseppe Pezzella is suspended, while Cremonese will also be without injured duo Jeremy Sarmiento and Martin Payero. Sarmiento could be recalled by his parent club Brighton, with Middlesbrough linked with the winger.

Verona have a number of injury concerns for the short trip to the Stadio Giovanni Zini. Grigoris Kastanos, Tomas Suslov, Martin Frese, Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro and Armel Bella-Kotchap are out, while Unai Nunez is banned.

Cremonese are 6/4 for victory on home turf, Verona are 2/1 to win on the road and the draw is a 2/1 shot.

Over 2.5 goals is an 11/8 chance and both teams score can be backed at 10/11.

Hellas Verona to win @ 2/1

Verona sit at the bottom of the Serie A table, but that position is a rather harsh reflection of the performances of the Yellow and Blues this term.

Paolo Zanetti’s men are winless in their last five Italian top-flight games, but they have faced tough trips to Milan and Napoli in that run and a clash with Cremonese is a step down in class.

Verona were extremely unfortunate to lose 3-2 to Bologna last time out, when they had more shots and created better chances than the visitors.

Cremonese are without a win in six Serie A games and they have scored only two goals in that spell.

La Cremo were crushed 5-0 by Juventus last time out, and while Davide Nicola's side have also faced Napoli in their recent fixtures, the performances haven’t been there in games against Lazio, Torino, Fiorentina and Cagliari.

Perhaps home advantage is enough to have Cremonese as favourties, but they look vulnerable on Monday.

Gift Orban to score first @ 5/1

It’s two goals in three matches for Gift Orban, who has hit the net six times in Serie A this term.

Three of those strikes have come away from home and the Nigerian should carry plenty of threat on the counter-attack.

Cremonese’s defence was exposed regularly when Juventus scored five and Orban should get a fair few opportunities to make his mark at the Stadio Giovanni Zini.
