A huge battle at the bottom of the Serie A table awaits on Monday as Cremonese host Fiorentina at Stadio Giovanni Zini (19:45 GMT, live on Betfred.com). The hosts sit in the bottom three coming into this clash but they are just one point behind the visitors.

Federico Bonazzoli is likely to get the nod ahead of Jamie Vardy to start up front for Cremonese after the former ended a 13-game goal drought at Lecce last time out.

Giuseppe Pezzella is out due to the red card he picked up in that defeat, while Federico Baschirotto, Michele Collocolo and Faris Moumbagna are all injured.

This game comes in the middle of Fiorentina's Uefa Conference League round of 16 tie with Rakow Czestochowa, so there could be some rotation considered despite this being a huge six-pointer in Serie A.

La Viola are set to miss key man Moise Kean again owing to a shin issue. Tariq Lamptey and Manor Solomon are also ruled out for the visitors.

There may be some tired legs in Fiorentina's ranks after their European clash on Thursday, so boss Paolo Vanoli will need to get his selections right for this relegation six-pointer on Monday.

Five league wins all season is poor for a club of their stature but the good thing is that they have been showing improvements of late. La Viola have won two of their last four outings, losing just once.

Improvement is not a word that can be associated with Cremonese, however, as they are without a win in 14 league fixtures. You have to go back to December 7 for their last victory in Serie A. They are on a three-game losing streak heading into Monday so it doesn't even look like they will be able to utilise the home advantage.

It may not be pretty but I am expecting Fiorentina to pick up the three points here.

I don't anticipate a lot of goals in this contest, so I think covering under 2.5 goals is a smart play. This has been a successful bet in each of Cremonese's past four home matches in the top flight. I Grigiorossi have also failed to score in 11 of their current 14-game winless run in Serie A. This includes their 1-0 defeat at Fiorentina in January.

Under 2.5 goals has also struck in two of La Viola's previous three outings in the league and so I do see this trend continuing on Monday night.
