Cagliari defender Adam Obert is suspended, having been sent off against Pisa.

Manager Fabio Pisacane will also have to make do without Gennaro Borrelli (thigh), Andrea Belotti and Riyad Idrissi (both ACL).

Napoli’s Antonio Vergara will be out for several weeks with plantar fasciitis. The Italian attacker had been playing through the injury but it has become too severe.

Conte also has David Neres (ankle surgery), Amir Rrahmani (hamstring) and Giovanni Di Lorenzo (knee) on the sidelines.

One of Manchester United’s waifs and strays currently on loan abroad, the much-maligned Dane seems to be finding his touch.

Rasmus Hojlund has bagged two goals in his side’s last three Serie A outings, taking his tally to a creditable 10 from 25 league outings. The 23-year-old has not quite made the doubters eat crow during a season of undulating fortunes at the Maradona, but he appears to be hitting his stride.

I reckon Hojlund can take advantage of a fairly leaky Cagliari side to add to his burgeoning total here.

The 2-1 streak continuing was a temptation at 15/2, but at some point the balance of the universe will surely be restored. With Cagliari not a particularly goal-happy bunch, I erred on the side of caution.

Conte’s men have bagged more than 1.5 goals in six of their last eight Serie A matches. They face a troubled side staring into the gaping maw of the relegation places and praying a six-point will keep them from the abyss. Look for the champions to bang at least a couple in here.
