AC Milan vs Genoa Prediction: Comfortable win for Allegri’s men

It is very tight when looking at the Serie A title race and there are just three points separating first and fifth. AC Milan are second and they are in action on Thursday as they welcome Genoa to San Siro (19:45 GMT, live on Betfred.com).
The visitors are winless in their past four league outings with three defeats in that run. Read on for my AC Milan vs Genoa predictions, alongside the latest match odds and team news.

Team News
Christopher Nkunku and Santiago Gimenez (both ankle) remain injured for AC Milan, while top scorer Christian Pulisic will need to be assessed ahead of the match after a muscular problem kept him out at the weekend.
Niclas Fullkrug has joined on loan from West Ham United to bolster the forward line but he may need time to build up his match fitness. Rafael Leao is fit to continue in attack, looking to add to his six goals in the top flight so far.
Lorenzo Colombo, on loan from AC Milan, has already scored against his parent club for Genoa this season and he was on the scoresheet in the last match against Pisa.
Sebastian Otoa picked up a knock in that game and is considered a doubt for Thursday's clash. Alessandro Marcandall may be in line for a recall as a result. Albert Gronbaek, Benjamin Siegrist, Maxwel Cornet and Junior Messias are also confined to the treatment room.
AC Milan vs Genoa Predicted Lineups
- AC Milan: Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Pulisic, Leao
- Genoa: Leali; Marcandalli, Ostigard, Vazquez; Norton-Cuffy, Malinovskyi, Frendrup, Thorsby, Martin; Vitinha, Colombo
AC Milan have won six of their past eight home league games and they are the perceived favourites to win this clash at 2/5.
Genoa drew their last match against Pisa and the stalemate is marketed at 10/3 on this occasion.
The Rosoblu are 15/2 to stun Milan on Thursday.
Milan's Leao is 23/20 to score anytime and notch his seventh league goal of the campaign.
AC Milan vs Genoa Stats
- Milan have won by two clear goals on three occasions in Serie A this season
- The Rossoneri have kept back-to-back clean sheets in the top flight
Handicap +1 - AC Milan -1 @ 6/5
After keeping two clean sheets in as many games, the hosts will be determined to record another shutout and against a side who have struggled to get going in the final third (18 goals in as many games).
Goalkeeper Mike Maignan has kept eight clean sheets in 16 appearances so far and he should fancy himself to keep a ninth on Thursday.
Genoa also have the joint-second worst defensive record in the division with 28 goals conceded. This makes me confident that the second-highest scorers (AC Milan) with 28 can rack up a few goals here.
I like the look of covering Milan with a -1 handicap, a market which has landed for the Rossoneri on three occasions in Serie A in 2025/26.

Which Team To Score - Only AC Milan @ 1/1
With just 18 goals in as many games in the top flight, Genoa are really struggling to have an impact in the final third, which is pulling them towards the bottom three as much as their bad defensive record.
Against a team that has kept nine clean sheets in Serie A this term, I can't see them suddenly becoming clinical with whatever chances they can muster on Thursday. Milan are a disciplined unit under Massimiliano Allegri and they have the joint-second best defensive record in the league (just 13 goals conceded).
The Rossoneri want to keep up the pace with rivals and league leaders Inter Milan and I think they will put an emphasis on recording another clean sheet here, and so I do think they will be the only team to score in the contest.
Their attacking resources should be too much for the wailing visitors to handle.
