Serbia vs Andorra Prediction: Eagles can show England how it’s done

After playing out a goalless draw with Albania on Saturday, Serbia will hope for a better return when they welcome Andorra to Leskovac on Tuesday (19:45) for their World Cup qualifier.

The Eagles have games in hand on the rest of Group K, with their campaign only starting at the weekend and they will look to make the most of them by beating the side currently sat bottom of the table, having lost all three of their fixtures to date. Although his side blanked against Albania, Serbia boss Dragan Stojkovic is set to continue with a 3-4-1-2 formation against Andorra, leaving fierce competition up front for places.

Dusan Vlahovic and all-time top scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic linked up at the weekend, with Luka Jovic having to settle for a place on the bench. That could change at Stadion Dubocica. Whatever Stojkovic decides, Mitrovic will surely feature in some capacity to earn his 100th cap for the Eagles.

Captain and goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic is sidelined by a thigh injury, so Chelsea shot-stopper Djordje Petrovic should remain between the sticks.

Andorra will rely on Iker Alvarez of Villarreal B between the posts, starting behind a likely five-man defence.

This may include 35-year-old captain Marc Vales, who is set to join Mitrovic in becoming an international centurion.

Albert Rosas Ubach is his country’s joint second-top scorer with five goals but missed out on this month's squad, so Santa Coloma striker Ricard Fernandez is set to lead the line in Serbia.

Serbia vs Andorra Odds

Serbia are 1/18 favourites to prevail here, which doesn't offer any value at all. I'd suggest maybe covering the Eagles with a -2 handicap at 4/5, which has an implied probability of 55.6%.

The draw is marketed at 10/1, with the hosts drawing four of their last five matches in all competitions.

Andorra are 40/1 to pick up a surprising victory but they have lost their past five games heading into Tuesday's clash.

Serbia to win 3-0 @ 4/1

Another avenue to go down when seeking value in a Serbia win is by sticking your neck out and attempting a correct scoreline. The Eagles will have seen how England struggled to break Andorra down at the weekend but I don't think they will find it anywhere near as difficult.

I think backing the hosts to win 3-0 is a fair prediction given the gulf in quality between the two squads, especially with Serbia being able to name one of Mitrovic, Vlahovic and Jovic on the bench.

There is plenty of attacking firepower in their ranks and this should prove more than enough for them to comfortably get past the visitors and put their first victory on the board in Group K.

With Andorra doing their best to keep England at bay for much of the game on Saturday, I suspect there may be some tired legs on show here, which could allow more gaps for Serbia to exploit.

From what has been reported in the media over the last few months, Serbia striker Vlahovic appears to be heading for the exit door at Juventus after three-and-a-half years in Turin.

The 25-year-old has fallen out of favour at the Allianz Stadium and he looks destined to move on this summer. There has been reported interest from Premier League clubs Arsenal, Newcastle United and Chelsea in the past, but it remains to be seen if any of them would pursue a deal for his services in this summer transfer window.

For now, Vlahovic can only focus on trying to stir up interest, and the best way to do that is by impressing for Serbia. He will be itching to face Andorra on Tuesday as they are a defence who frequently leak goals, and he has the quality to punish them further.
