Followers of the Scottish Premiership enjoy a second round of fixtures following the drama of midweek. Five matches kick-off at the traditional and fan-friendly Saturday 3:00 pm start time, including some mouth-watering games at the wrong end of the table as the relegation fight becomes vicious.

Betfred’s Frank Monkhouse enters March in great form, having tipped a 7/1 home win treble last week. He also gave three wins from four picks on Wednesday and now turns his attention to Saturday. Keep reading as he lays out an eye-catching 8/1 treble as part of his Scottish Football Betting Tips from north of the border…

Scottish Football Betting Tips:

  • Hibs beat Ross County @ 4/7
  • St Johnstone beat Livingston @ 11/8
  • St Mirren beat Aberdeen @ 11/8

Hibs beat Ross County @ 4/7

There will be two games played in the capital this weekend as Hibs host lowly Ross County on Saturday before neighbours Hearts welcome Celtic to Tynecastle for a Sunday midday kick-off broadcast live on Sky Sports. You will find an in-depth preview of the Jambos game elsewhere on this site, but for now, we concentrate on matters at Easter Road, where Hibs target a win that could nudge them back into the top six.

The locals are unbeaten in their last three games at this level, collecting five points following two draws and a win. They beat Dundee 2-1 when last at this stadium and were unlucky to only take a point from Tynecastle in Wednesday’s Edinburgh derby. They’ll fancy their chances of making a quick-fire return to winning ways when welcoming a Ross County side that’s second from the bottom of the league with just one win and a draw in their last five.

Hibs have proven unreliable to followers of this column recently, but they should have enough skill and fight to make home advantage count and get our accumulator off to the perfect start. Trust the locals at a handy price.

St Johnstone beat Livingston @ 11/8

You won’t find a St Johnstone win tipped many times in our weekend accumulator articles. Still, we’re placing our trust in former Scotland manager Craig Levein’s team against bottom club Livingston. The Saints are involved in a race to avoid relegation and protect their place at the head table of Scottish football.

St Johnstone enters in 10th place, just one spot and four points better than Ross County and the drop zone. They scored a stunning and unexpected 2-0 win at Pittodrie a few days ago, and that result added some much-needed confidence to the ranks. Back a home win at 11/8.

Livingston is stuck hard to the foot of the Premiership, and although manager David Martindale won’t admit it yet, his club is nearing Championship football with every defeat. The Lions travel to Perth with just three wins from 28 outings, and they have already conceded 48 goals, which is the worst in the division.

St Mirren beat Aberdeen @ 11/8

We aim to wrap things up in Paisley with a home win for a St Mirren side that has every chance of securing a top-six finish in the Premiership and money-spinning extra games against the Old Firm before the finish. The Buddies start in fifth, and they’re improving, claiming three wins and a draw in their last five league outings. The spare loss in that purple patch was a surprise 1-0 at Almondvale a few weeks ago.

Losing to the bottom club was bitterly disappointing. Still, the team has impressed with how they have responded, beating St Johnstone 2-0 in their previous home game and battling to a 1-1 draw away to Ross County on Tuesday evening. We make St Mirren a good beat to snag another three points when hosting an Aberdeen side that seems to stumble from one poor result to the next.

Things have failed to improve much at Pittodrie since the appointment of experienced and colourful Englishman Neil Warnock, who has remained winless since taking the reigns until the end of the season. Aberdeen has collected just two of the last 15 points available and will arrive in Paisley following back-to-back 2-0 defeats against St Johnstone and Killie.
