Saturday Football Accumulator Tips: A 10/1 Scottish treble

Followers of our Scottish football accumulator picks were desperately unlucky last weekend, with just a 3-3 draw at Easter Road blocking a profit. Rangers threw away a two-goal lead in that game, dropping two points and spoiling our fun. We aim to go one better as Betfred’s Frank Monkhouse picks a treble at great odds.

Dundee United beat St Mirren
We open with our first of two picks from the Premiership when backing Dundee United to defeat St Mirren in Paisley. The visitors arrive following back-to-back defeats when losing 1-0 against Hearts and 2-0 at Celtic Park in midweek. But Jim Goodwin’s side are third in the table, rated as the best of the rest behind the Old Firm.
Dundee United have won nine and drawn seven games so far this term and boast a 100 per cent record over Saturday’s opponents in three previous meetings. The Tangerines scored a 1-0 home win in the League Cup, added a 1-0 in Paisley in the Premiership, and enjoyed a 2-0 win at Tannadice when the Saints visited at the end of November.
We’re happy to stick with the stats against a Saints side that has lost their last three games, conceding seven and scoring just once.
Hibernian beat Motherwell
Moving to our second pick from the top flight, and we’re backing Hibernian to beat Motherwell in the capital. The locals start seventh in the table and are looking for a win that would drive them into the top six.
That’s remarkable for a side rooted to the bottom of the division not too long ago. David Gray’s side are on a long unbeaten run, winning four and drawing two of their previous six starts. That includes a thrilling 3-3 draw with Rangers at this venue six days ago.
Motherwell trip to the capital two places above their hosts in the division but are in real danger of slipping out of the prize places and into the bottom six. The Steelmen have won just one of their last six games, losing two and drawing three.
Hibs hammered Motherwell 3-0 at Fir Park late last year, and we’re happy to side with the form team. Home advantage and momentum will make the difference in this fascinating renewal.
Ayr United beat Dunfermline
We wrap up our Saturday treble by dropping into the Scottish Championship and placing a bet on Ayr United to beat Dunfermline at East End Park. The visitors are second in the league and hot on the heels of current leaders Falkirk.
Former Celtic captain Scott Brown is in charge at Somerset Park and guided the Honest Men to four wins and a draw in their last six. They’re also unbeaten in four, and that run will likely continue here.
The hosts are stuck in the relegation zone, sitting second from the bottom of the Championship, with only Airdrie currently worse off. The managerless Pars upset the odds to beat Partick Thistle 4-1 in Glasgow last time, but that was the team’s first victory in four and only their second win in six, a run that stretches back to mid-November when they scored a home win over the bottom club. Ayr United is a strong bet to complete the treble.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
