Hibs beat Kilmarnock
We open Saturday afternoon’s away win treble with a bet at Rugby Park, where Kilmarnock host Hibs. The home team teeter dangerously close to the relegation zone after losing three games on the spin. Killie were beaten 1-0 at Pittodrie, 4-2 when hosting Rangers, and 1-0 in Dingwall. Kilmarnock could be sucked into the Championship if manager Derek McInnes doesn’t stop the rot soon.
We’re happy to side with Hibs away to Kilmarnock as the team from the capital are one of the form sides in the UK. The visitors climbed from the bottom of the league to third, and they are in the running for a European finish. With four wins and two draws in their previous six, Hibs have impressed, but there’s more to come from a team that’s brimming with confidence. Add Hibs to your multiples to boost the returns.
St Mirren to beat Motherwell
For the second leg of our Saturday treble, we’re off to Fir Park, where we pick St Mirren to pile pressure on their hosts. The Steelmen are sixth in the league and in the mix for a top-half finish following back-to-back wins. Motherwell ended a rotten run of form with a 2-1 when last appearing at Fir Park and followed that with a stunning 2-1 win at Ibrox earlier this month against a managerless Gers.
There’s no doubt Motherwell have steadied the ship and are back in the mix for the prize places. But they face an opponent that looks likely for a third-place finish. Hibs have beaten Motherwell in each of their last two meetings, securing a 3-0 victory at this venue in November and a 3-1 win in the nation’s capital earlier this year. I’m taking a chance on the confidence in this Hibs team, carrying them to victory.
Aberdeen beat St Johnstone
We wrap things up with a bet on Aberdeen to win at McDiarmid Park. It wasn’t too long ago that this would’ve been a sure-fire winner for the team from the Granite City. Saturday’s match pairs a team that is currently stuck to the bottom of the league with an opponent that was in pole position back in the summer. But things have changed with Aberdeen falling off the pace and St Johnstone fighting back.
The home team may be in the basement, but there’s plenty of life left in this Saints side. They’ve won three and drawn one of their last six, but St Johnstone did suffer a 3-1 loss at Rugby Park and a 2-1 home defeat to Hearts late last month. Aberdeen are far from reliable after enduring a rollercoaster season. But the visitors have won two and drawn one of their last four. Back Aberdeen to take the points back to Pittodrie.
