We have five games on the docket including two from the Premier League, a brace from the National League and one from over in Northern Ireland where two poor defences play one another. Let's check out our 15/1 Saturday BTTS Tips...

Leg 1 - Everton vs Aston Villa - BTTS - Yes @ 4/5

We start this Saturday's 3PM BTTS Acca in the Premier League with a team who have yet to score through their first 270 minutes of football this campaign. On paper, that doesn't look like a great recipe for BTTS but surely this is a run that has to come to an end sooner rather than later. Aston Villa have plenty of quality attacking options and had 30 shots in their past two. In their last away game, they had an xG of 1.81 but still didn't find the back of the net.

As for Everton, they've scored five in their past two and were involved in a 2-3 thriller at Wolves last time out. At some point Unai Emery's side score and I fancy them to get back on track this weekend but with the way the Toffees are playing, they'll score as well.

Leg 2 - Newcastle United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers - BTTS - Yes @ 1/1

Biggest price of the Acca and this is all gut feel. Newcastle have struggled to score all season long but they finally have a couple of strikers available who can feast on the chances being created. Whether it is Yoane Wissa or Nick Woltemade who gets the first chance up top, I think we finally see the real start of the Toon’s season.

I'm sure this is being considered a 50/50 shot by the traders because Wolves aren’t exactly an attacking juggernaut.

The reason I like them though is because of Jorgen Strand Larsen. The Norwegian striker was the subject of two big-money bids from Newcastle late in the transfer window and you know how it’ll play out on Saturday, he’ll find a way to score to get the Geordies discussing whether or not they should’ve offered even more money. This obviously does depend on his fitness and news on that front hasn't been encouraging. Even without him though, it would not shock me if the visitors cause problems. I like Newcastle to win  but think Wolves score at least once.

Leg 3 - Carlisle United vs Aldershot Town - BTTS - Yes @ 4/7

Here’s a stat that suggests following Aldershot this season might be a rather entertaining thing to do. Through eight games in the National League, the Hampshire side have scored 22 times and conceded 17. That is one shy of an average of five-a-game.

Carlisle themselves have been plundering the goals, scoring 17 through eight matches with Regan Linney the current joint-top scorer in the division, having scored seven times already this campaign.

The Cumbrian club may be a bit more resilient defensively, having only let in six but the attacking force of the Shots has been something else. They’ve scored in every match and the only game that wasn’t BTTS was a 4-0 home win over the struggling Morecambe. Feels like BTTS to me.

Leg 4 - Forest Green Rovers vs Scunthorpe United - BTTS - Yes @ 4/5

Staying in the National League, Aldershot’s one slip-up in terms of BTTS means that at 88%, they aren’t top of the pile. It is Scunthorpe who are sitting pretty at the summit of that particular table with a 100% record.

They face a tough challenge on Saturday however as Robbie Savage’s top-of-the-table Forest Green Rovers will be the hosts as they travel to the New Lawn. The current 11/4 joint-favourites to win the division have yet to concede in front of their own fans this term but that is a record that has to change at some point surely?

The well-known manager is already being linked with jobs higher up the football pyramid and does that uncertainty provide a chink in their armour?

For me, at some point FGR will not keep a clean sheet at home so who better to dent that record than the only 100% BTTS team in the division.

Leg 5 - Dungannon Swifts vs Crusaders BTTS - Yes @ 8/13

When I’m covering the Saturday BTTS Accumulator for Betfred Insights, one of the things I like to do is find a match completely off the punters' usual radar to throw into the mix. This week, I’ve gone across the Irish Sea for a match between two sides in the lower reaches of the Northern Irish Premiership.

Both Dungannon Swifts and Crusaders have tasted defeat plenty already, with only one victory apiece through 11 combined matches. For the hosts though, that came last time out when they beat bottom-of-the-table Glenavon 0-2. The visitor's only win was also on the road - a 1-3 win at Bangor.

The reason I like this game for BTTS though is that both defences are pretty darn poor. 26 goals conceded in those 11 games combined for an average of 2.4 per 90 minutes. I expect nerves and mistakes at the back in a game between two of the bottom clubs that could well lead to goals at both ends.
