Is this the week that San Marino finally win a game? Probably not, but they take on Denmark in Group H of Euro 2024’s qualification campaign, with kick-off at 19:45 on Tuesday night. Below I preview the match and give a couple of betting selections to consider.

San Marino vs Denmark Tips

  • San Marino 0-6 Denmark @ 13/2
  • Rasmus Hojlund to score a hat-trick @ 11/2

Team news

San Marino lost 3-0 to Northern Ireland last time out and have no injury issues or suspensions to contend with. Meanwhile, Denmark’s talented squad looks fit and firing as they head into a clash they must win comfortably. Manchester United’s duo Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen both started in their 3-1 win over Kazakhstan and should play a key part for Kasper Hjulmand here.

Match Odds

San Marino are a whopping 50/1 to win this match, while a draw can be backed at 33/1. Meanwhile, a Denmark win is just 1/200.

San Marino 0-6 Denmark @ 13/2

We can’t back Denmark to win this match outright, there simply is no value in doing so. However, it is quite clear that they will win this game by a hefty margin, without conceding a goal. In my opinion, it is worth taking a shot at the correct score market. Denmark only beat San Marino 4-0 in the reverse fixture, but they had 32 shots in total and 86% possession.

We can expect more of the same here, but with some more clinical finishing, Denmark can score more. They’ll also want to put a statement out to the rest of the group, given they currently sit second behind Slovenia and are level on points with the group leaders. Six goals here feels right, given the quality they possess throughout their squad.

Rasmus Hojlund to score a hat-trick @ 11/2

Manchester United forward Hojlund has proven himself to be an elite goalscorer and his finishing and movement is top drawer. Although his club might be struggling at this moment in time, we’ve seen enough from him to suggest he will be able to put San Marino to the sword. He’ll be desperate to get amongst the goals and alongside Jonas Wind, should be able to find the net on multiple occasions.

The 11/2 on him to score a hat-trick feels like an excellent price given he should be handed chance after chance in front of goal. This is going to be one-way traffic from the first minute, and Hojlund can take full advantage.
