Salford City and Peterborough United meet again after an enthralling 2-2 draw in the first round of the FA Cup. Now they will face each other in a replay on Tuesday night (19:45) to determine who progresses. Below we take a look at the betting market ahead of this clash.

Salford vs Peterborough Tips

  • Salford to win in 90 mins @ 12/5
  • Over 2.5 Salford goals in 90 mins @ 11/2

Team News

Adrian Mariappa and Theo Vassell could return to the Salford team having failed to make the squad in the 2-1 defeat to Mansfield Town. Neil Wood tried something different with his tactics during that game and it almost paid off, as they dominated possession but fell to defeat.

For Posh, Kwame Poku and Ephron Mason-Clark may both start after their braces at the weekend in the 5-0 win over Cambridge. Darren Ferguson may choose to name a stronger XI than he did in the first leg as they strive to reach round two.

Match Odds

Salford City are 12/5 to win this one, and Peterborough are priced at 10/11. That is reflective of their higher league status, while a draw in 90 mins is 11/4. BTTS is priced at 8/13, and over 2.5 goals is 4/6.

Salford to win in 90 mins  @ 12/5

Peterborough are 4th in League One and pushing for promotion back to the Championship. That is their number one priority, and although Salford also want to be challenging at the top of League Two, they are currently 15th. As a result, we may see several changes from Ferguson.

It’s also worth mentioning that I believe Salford are far further down in the table than I believe they should be. They lost to a very impressive Mansfield team last time out, but in that 2-2 draw with Posh, they proved they can go toe-to-toe with a League One outfit. In my opinion, they will be able to put in another good performance here.

They’ve only lost to Wrexham, Stockport and Mansfield in the last seven weeks, and those three are the elite outfits in League Two. They’ll fancy their chances of causing a slight upset here and at this price, are worth getting behind.

Over 2.5 Salford goals in 90 mins  @ 11/2

Something about this game leads me to believe that Salford could enjoy a seriously profitable day in front of goal. They scored two against Posh, four against Manchester United U21s and three against Doncaster Rovers, all in recent weeks.

They found the net against Mansfield at the weekend and Neil Wood’s side have been decent in front of goal this term. To push the boat out with a long-shot, we’ve plumped for over 2.5 Salford goals at 11/2.
