Leeds United travel to Moor Lane to take on Salford City in a tasty second-round Carabao Cup clash on Tuesday night (20.00).

After going winless in their opening three games, Leeds overcame Ipswich Town in a pulsating 4-3 victory last time out, marking their first of the league season. However, Salford have struggled for consistency in League Two so far, with two wins and defeats each in five games, leaving the Ammies are down in 10th place in the league table.

Salford vs Leeds Prediction

  • Double Chance – Salford or Draw @ 23/20
  • Over 3.5 goals @ 13/8

Team News

Salford come into this game with no fresh injury concerns after the loss to Accrington Stanley at the weekend, so Neil Wood has plenty of options should he wish to shuffle the pack for this midweek clash.

Leeds, however, are plagued by injuries, with Sam Byram, Patrick Bamford, Stuart Dallas, Liam Cooper and Junior Firpo all in the treatment room, while Ian Poveda and Daniel James will both need assessing ahead of this clash.

Double Chance – Salford or draw @ 23/20

Salford City will be looking to claim the scalp of another Championship opponent in the League Cup when they host injury-hit Leeds on Tuesday.

The Ammies eliminated Preston on penalties in the first round of the competition – only their second-ever victory in the League Cup.

Leeds have won only two of their last 10 League Cup ties inside 90 minutes, and to give Salford further encouragement, both sides have scored in four of Leeds’ five games in all competitions this season.

Salford themselves have produced a mixed bag in terms of results in League Two this season, winning two of their five games, but Neil Wood’s side may be catching Leeds at a good time.

Over 3.5 goals @ 13/8

Leeds were on the right side of a 4-3 thriller with Ipswich Town last time out, and Salford beat Tranmere by the same scoreline a fortnight ago, so I think there could be plenty of goals on show here.

Salford saw over 3.5 goals in the previous round, and both sides have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last five outings.
