Rotherham United welcome Wrexham to the AESSEAL New York Stadium on Saturday (15:00) in League 1, as they bid to extend their unbeaten run to four matches. The Millers had an excellent opportunity to secure a third win on the bounce last week against Peterborough United but had to settle for a point after they saw their 3-1 lead slip.

Wrexham were 4-1 winners over Northampton Town in their last outing, and they will face a tough test against another promotion rival who have been improving in the last few weeks. Read on for my Rotherham vs Wrexham prediction, including match odds and team news.

Team News

Rotherham defender Sean Raggett remains a doubt to feature after missing the last five matches across all competitions due to injury. He will be assessed ahead of the weekend, as will midfielder Liam Kelly, who has been absent for the Millers' last two matches.

There is some concern for striker Jonson Clarke-Harris after he was taken off at half-time against Peterborough last week, and it remains to be seen if he will be declared fit to play.

Clarke-Harris was on the scoresheet against his old side, as were his fellow attackers Sam Nombe and Malik Wilks. Steve Evans should have more than enough attacking output from them if his main man cannot face the Red Dragons.

Wrexham are set to be without the services of Max Cleworth and Luke Bolton due to their respective injury issues. George Evans is a doubt to feature having missed the last two matches in all competitions.

Draw or Wrexham and both teams to score @ 8/5

Wrexham have adapted brilliantly to the third tier so far, following their promotion from League 2 last season. The Welsh side sit second in the table and are in a great position to try and secure their third consecutive promotion.

It is a credit to what owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have accomplished since taking the reins in 2021. A lot of credit must also go to Parkinson as he's been able to develop a winning culture on the pitch and constantly strengthen his side as they have risen to a new level in the English football pyramid.

Their recent results have been up and down, so perhaps the international break came at the right time for them. Wrexham's campaign resumes against a promotion rival as they travel to Rotherham, who had been slow starters in League 1.

Evans' side have been improving in recent weeks, winning two of their last four matches. They will feel as though it should have been three as they were 3-1 up at Posh last weekend. They conceded two quick-fire goals in the second half as they switched off from set-pieces, which Evans will have been extremely disappointed with.

Wrexham will have seen this and seeing as they are a nuisance from set-pieces, they will try to exploit that. We saw them strike early against Birmingham City from a corner, so they will pose a huge threat to the Millers here.

I do think this is a very tough game to call because realistically, both of these sides are strong promotion contenders, and this is going to be a huge six-pointer for them. Over the course of the campaign, Wrexham have looked the better of the two sides, but Rotherham are continuing to improve.

My head is telling me backing double chance in the visitors' favour is the smart play here, and I've added both teams to score because I think we could be in a for a few goals in this feisty encounter. BTTS has also been a winning selection in three of Rotherham's five matches in the third tier this season, so there is also that to consider.

Elliot Lee anytime goalscorer @ 4/1

I think 4/1 offers excellent value for this man to find the back of the net. The midfielder is one of Wrexham's most important players, and his four goals so far can attest to that.

His goals have been spread out across his 10 appearances but I have a feeling he can score in consecutive matches for the first time this campaign. Lee has the quality to burst forward with the ball at his feet, which makes him such an asset for the Red Dragons, and he never shies away from taking shots from range if he sees an opening.

Then there are the attacking scenarios where he will arrive late in the box. I think this is a scenario from which he can profit, as there have been several occasions this term in which Rotherham's defenders have switched off at the wrong time.
