Rotherham United vs Lincoln City Prediction: Imps can get back to winning ways

Rotherham United will look to get back to winning ways in League 1 on Tuesday (19:45, Sky Sports+) when they welcome Lincoln City to the AESSEAL New York Stadium. The Millers have lost two matches on the bounce against Barnsley and Crawley Town, and have won just one of their last six.
Lincoln are winless in their last four but will have gained some confidence from their 4-3 FA Cup triumph over Crawley at the weekend. Read on for my Rotherham United vs Lincoln City prediction, alongside the latest match odds and team news.
Rotherham United vs Lincoln City Odds
Rotherham are 6/4 to win this match, and the Millers have won three of their seven home games to date. Lincoln are 2/1 to collect the three points because their last away win in the league came back in September against Cambridge United, giving them an implied probability of 33.3%.
The draw is on offer at 21/10 (32.3%), with both sides have shared the spoils five times already this season.
Both teams to score, a winning selection in just three of Rotherham's home matches this term, is priced at 10/11. Over 2.5 goals, which has appeared in just two of Lincoln's nine matches on the road, is available at 5/4.
Lincoln striker Ben House has netted four goals in League 1 so far and he is 3/1 to strike anytime on Tuesday.
Team News
Rotherham boss Steve Evans should be able to welcome back Liam Kelly, Sam Nombe, Joe Rafferty and Ben Hatton to the squad for Lincoln, with the players missing the defeat to Crawley due to illness.
Nombe could partner Jonson Clarke-Harris in attack if deemed fit to play, while fellow attacker Malik Wilks has been absent for the last three matches across all competitions. Having failed to score in their last two games, the Millers need two of their best attackers to start firing soon.
Reece James could be considered for a recall in midfield after the defeat to Crawley, and he will be competing with Joe Powel and Shaun McWilliams for a spot in the engine room.
Cohen Bramall and Hakeem Odoffin will provide width as the wing-backs, while Zak Jules, Sean Raggett and Cameron Humphreys will likely be the three centre-halves tasked with shielding goalkeeper Dillon Phillips.
For Lincoln, boss Michael Skubala started Jack Moylan in the cup tie at the weekend, but Conor McGrandles could be recalled to the middle of the park for this league clash. Similarly, midfielders Ethan Erhahon and Dom Jeffries may return to the lineup after being dropped at the weekend.
Tendayi Darikwa, who has mostly operated on the right for Lincoln this season, was deployed at right centre-back against Wrexham in the last league outing. Fans will be hoping to see him in his preferred position on Tuesday, from which he has provided three goals and two assists to date.
Paudie O'Connor is set to lead the back line once again for the Imps, while Bailey Cadamarteri and Jovon Makama partner each other up front once again.
Lincoln to win at 2/1
With the return of Evans to the Millers at the back end of last season, you thought Rotherham were getting everything in order for another positive campaign in the third tier - except that hasn't been the script so far.
Rotherham are 19th in the table and just two points above the relegation zone, and Evans has come under a fair bit of pressure from fans in the first few months of the campaign.
They have had to deal with injuries, like so many other teams, but it doesn't hide the fact that they haven't been good enough so far, and don't look like they have what it takes to challenge at the top end of the table.
The Millers have looked toothless in attack for much of the season, managing just 14 goals from their first 16 games. They have blanked in their recent defeats to Barnsley and Crawley so you might say it's almost time for panic stations at the New York Stadium.
We're about to enter the congested festive period, which separates the strong from the weak, but it is also this period of the season that can destroy a side. Lincoln head here not in the best of form themselves, having managed just two points from their last four outings.
The Imps are ninth in the table but if they want to improve their position, they need to improve their returns on the road. Skubala's men have managed just three wins away from home this term in nine attempts, but they have only lost two as well.
Lincoln just need to find a way to convert those one points into three, and that would massively improve their chances of finishing in the play-off spots. I think they can get started on this on Tuesday against a troubled Rotherham side, so I'm backing the Imps to win.

Both teams to score @ 10/11
I do think this game will have goals at both ends, though, because Nombe will be a welcomed addition back into the Millers' squad, and both he and Clarke-Harris know where the back of the net is with three and four league goals respectively.
BTTS may have only landed in three of Rotherham's seven clashes at the NYS so far, but they are facing a team who have no trouble scoring, with Lincoln having registered 23 goals already this season. They also aren't the strongest defensive outfit having leaked 21 goals in the first 17 matches.
The Imps have been involved in four matches on the road in which both teams have scored, and I don't see them having issues scoring against a downbeat Rotherham side.
Additionally, I see the Millers scoring against the Imps because their form of late has seen them concede seven goals in three matches across all competitions.
