The Championship is back with a full set of midweek fixtures, and Rotherham United will be looking to bag just the second win of their league season as they host Bristol City.

Rotherham vs Bristol City Tips:

  • Bristol City to win @ 21/20
  • Nahki Wells to score anytime @ 9/5

Bristol City to win @ 21/20

Rotherham haven’t won in their last four, and in that time, they’ve only managed to score once. There’s no doubt that Matt Taylor is up against it this season, and he has one of the weakest squads at his disposal this term. The Millers are guaranteed to be in a relegation scrap this season, and whether they manage to stay above the dreaded dotted line will depend on their home form.

Their only win of the season came against Norwich City at the New York Stadium, but they are simply conceding too many goals to be successful – 19 and counting, in their nine matches so far. There is also a lack of goalscoring threat, which puts them at a serious disadvantage.

Meanwhile Bristol City haven’t been brilliant, but have won three, drawn three and lost three so far. Nigel Pearson saw his side throw away a two-goal lead at home to Stoke at the weekend which will have frustrated him, but all the signs are that the Robins will be competitive this term.

They’ve certainly got enough about them to get past a weak Rotherham side.

Nahki Wells to score anytime @ 9/5

Bristol City should enjoy a profitable day in front of goal in Yorkshire. The Robins scored twice against Stoke and four against Plymouth in recent weeks, while Nahki Wells has confidently established himself as the preferred number nine.

Wells scored against Stoke last time out and the price of 9/5 for him to score anytime feels incredibly generous given this Bristol City side shouldn’t struggle to create chances in midweek. Bristol City need a big win and can heap the misery onto Rotherham in the process. With his excellent finishing, Wells can take full advantage in front of goal.
