We’ve got a pivotal match to look forward to in Group I, as Romania host Israel on Saturday 9th September at 7.45pm. Both teams have put themselves in a decent position to finish in the top two, making this one a crucial encounter as they bid to reach Germany.

Romania vs Israel tips:

  • Romania to win and BTTS yes at 10/3
  • Manor Solomon to score anytime at 16/5

Team news:

Romanian captain Nicolae Stanciu is expected to have a big impact in an attacking sense in this game, but the key creator for the hosts could once again be Olimpiu Moruţan. He’s registered three assists already in qualifying and now plays for MKE Ankaragücü in Turkey.

Meanwhile, Israel’s big star is now Tottenham Hotspur’s diminutive winger Manor Solomon. The former Fulham man has already scored for his new club and is now also the top scorer in Israel’s current squad, with seven international goals to his name.

Romania to win and BTTS yes

The home side are on a run of five unbeaten matches and rescued a draw away at Switzerland last time out despite being 2-0 down in the 89th minute. That’s a phenomenal result which could carry them towards Euro 2024, but they will need to follow it up with a win here.

During this run they’ve scored five against Moldova and two apiece against Andorra, Belarus and Switzerland. Meanwhile, Israel have also been comfortable scoring goals recently, scoring twice in wins over Belarus and Andorra. Importantly though, they also conceded in both of those matches and against a much sterner attack, they could find themselves in trouble.

Romania could well continue their sparkling unbeaten run, and we could get a thriller full of goals if things pan out how we expect. 10/3 on offer for a home win with BTTS is something we can get behind.

Manor Solomon to score anytime

Sometimes it really is as simple as looking at who the best attacking individual on the pitch is, and backing them to score. Solomon has looked dangerous in his brief gametime at Spurs so far, and there’s no doubt that he can develop into one of the most feared wingers in Europe.

In the here and now though, he is still Israel’s most dangerous attacker. Importantly, he is guaranteed to play the full 90 minutes and scored the winner in the 2-1 success over Andorra last time out. Although Romania are tough opposition, they have been defensively susceptible, especially against elite individual talent. Solomon can find the net here.
