Club World Cup Team Betting Predictions: Real Madrid

The biggest club in the world was always going to be a cornerstone of the first Fifa Club World Cup under its new guise. As the winners of 15 Uefa Champions League titles and five-time world champions, Real Madrid are the showpiece name in any tournament they enter.
Even after a season in which they failed to win La Liga and were dumped out of the Champions League in the quarter-finals, Los Blancos are the team to beat in the USA over the next month. My Real Madrid Fifa Club World Cup 2025 predictions follow below, with a full run-down of their chances of winning the competition, and an assessment of their squad.
Club World Cup Team Betting Predictions - Real Madrid
Group H: Real Madrid, Al Hilal, RB Salzburg, Pachuca
Fixtures: Real Madrid vs Al Hilal (20:00 BST, June 18), Real Madrid vs Pachuca (20:00 BST, June 22), RB Salzburg vs Real Madrid (02:00 BST, June 27)
Player to watch: Kylian Mbappe
Real Madrid are never too far away from their next great success.
Those 12 years between their ninth and 10th European titles, with the fabled search for ‘La Decima’, have given way to a run of six continental crowns in the last dozen seasons, and they’ve followed each of those with a Club World Cup/Intercontinental Cup win.
Tournaments like these are built for Real Madrid in many ways, and this is a stage on which many of their superstars should thrive.
They have a soft landing too, with Group H looking like little more than a warm-up for the main event to follow in the knockout stage, and that could be key for Xabi Alonso’s side ahead of the former midfielder’s first competition since leaving Bayer Leverkusen to replace Carlo Ancelotti.
Already, they have had a bit of a run-up to the event thanks to their comparatively early exit from the Champions League. And with Alonso no doubt wanting to trial a few things in the group stage, the first three fixtures are pretty ideal.
It’s probably true of most competitions they enter, but Real Madrid fans will definitely be looking straight past the preliminary stage and plotting the route through the knockouts.
They’re 1/6 to top Group H, with the other three teams’ hopes of finishing first neglible at best. Al Hilal are priced at 8/1 by Betfred, with RB Salzburg 9/1 and Pachuca 25/1.
After that first trio of games, the forecasted route could take Madrid into battle against Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, all of which would be tasty match-ups.

Player to watch: Kylian Mbappe
This is obviously a very different type of world stage to the one which Mbappe has shone on previously, but Madridistas will be hoping that the French superstar takes to this event in much the same way he has demonstrated at the past two Fifa World Cups.
His breakout game at that level came in Kazan in 2018 when his two goals led France past Argentina in the round of 16 on their way to winning the famous trophy for the second time in Moscow two weeks later.
And four years on he became only the second player in history to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final despite ending on the losing side after penalty kicks against Argentina.
His 12 World Cup goals before the age of 24 made him the obvious choice to become the leading star of the modern era.
But questions over his demeanour have somewhat clouded perception of him since then, despite his 31 league goals in his first season in Madrid earning him the European Golden Shoe.
It seems a foregone conclusion that a Madrid Club World Cup title will feature a firing Mbappe.

Prediction: To win the Club World Cup @ 4/1
There are very good arguments as to why Real Madrid might not be the best team in this tournament right now, but many of those sound a hell of a lot like all those which were quoted during their runs to European titles in 2022 and 2024.
Question marks remain over the attitude of some of their stars, and Alonso’s elevation to the head coach job after his historic three-year spell with Leverkusen brings about an element of uncertainty.
But this is Real Madrid at a major tournament, and they have the kind of calibre that will be necessary to deliver at four-day intervals over the next month.
The draw has been kind, and any teething issues can be banished before the likes of PSG, Bayern and anyone else of that stature are thrust in their path.
Madrid are the team to beat, and the 4/1 odds implying a 20% probability of them coming out of it with the trophy on July 13 are on the generous side given their history.
