Real Madrid host Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga on Sunday evening (17:30) as the league leaders look to maintain a healthy gap at the top of the table. After being denied a last-gasp winner at Valencia last weekend, Los Blancos will be eager to secure the three points on this occasion at home.

Former Madrid boss Rafael Benitez heads to the Spanish capital with his struggling Celta Vigo side, who have managed to give themselves a five-point buffer from the relegation zone with a win over bottom club Almeria last time out. Here are our Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo predictions, which feature team news and match odds.

Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo Betting Tips

  • Real Madrid and both teams to score Yes @ 9/5
  • Vinicius Jr to score anytime @ EVS

Match Odds

As you can imagine, Real Madrid are the huge favourites to win this one and they are valued at 2/7. Celta Vigo are a whopping 10/1 to pull off an upset, while the draw can be backed at 9/2.

Both teams to score is on offer at 10/11 and over 2.5 goals is 8/15.

Team News

Madrid star Jude Bellingham will serve the first of his two-game domestic suspension for the red card he received after the full-time whistle at Valencia last weekend. Thibaut Courtois, David Alaba and Eder Militao remain sidelined with ACL injuries. Alaba is out for the season, but the other two are primed to return to footballing activities towards the end of April.

Celta have an injury problem of their own as Joseph Aidoo, Renato Tapia, Miguel Rodriguez and Mihailo Ristic are all out of action. Carlos Dotor and Williot Swedberg remain doubts to feature. Attacker Iago Aspas comes into contention after returning from suspension, however.

When it comes to playing at home, Los Blancos are a formidable force. They are yet to taste at the Bernabeu in all competitions in 2023-24 and only three of their 19 clashes on home soil have been draws. And with Celta's misfortune in the league so far over the course of the campaign, all evidence points towards a Madrid victory.

We fancy the hosts to win this one quite comfortably, but we do expect them to experience a degree of frustration. They will be eager to record a clean sheet but recent evidence would suggest that is unlikely.

BTTS has landed in six of Celta's last seven matches and Benitez's men have also found the back of the net in seven straight matches on the road. With the likes of Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Federico Valverde, Los Blancos should have far too much quality for the visitors, but Celta's league position doesn't mean that they will just roll over.

Having to deal with two La Liga matches without your star player and top scorer in Bellingham will not be ideal for the league leaders, but there is still an abundance of quality for Ancelotti to depend upon in his absence.

One of those is Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr. The dazzling wide man has scored 15 goals in all competitions so far this term and nine of those have been in the league. He will undoubtedly carry Madrid's biggest goal threat for the new couple of games until Bellingham returns and we fancy him to step-up in that time.

The Brazil international has scored three goals in his last two outings. He netted a brace at Valencia last weekend, before scoring an excellent goal in the Champions League against RB Leipzig. He will be full of confidence heading into Sunday's clash, and facing a shaky defence in Celta, he will fancy himself to add to his tally for the campaign.
