Rangers Ibrox Stadium

Rangers entertain Celtic on Sunday (12:00) in a huge Old Firm derby clash that could prove decisive in the battle for the Scottish Premiership title.

The visitors boast a one-point lead over their city rivals but Rangers have a game in hand, meaning only a victory for the former will keep their destiny in their own hands. That means this game could potentially be played in the spirit of a cup final, where the winner takes all, and that may well lead to a few goals and plenty of bookings which is where the focus lies for our Rangers vs Celtic Bet Builder tips.

James Tavernier to score anytime

Rangers star James Tavernier set a new all-time British record last week by becoming the top scoring defender in league history with 131 goals, and he looks a good candidate for an anytime effort once again.

Tavernier was on target for the Ibrox side when these teams last met, a 2-1 win for Celtic at Parkhead, and has scored five goals across his last eight games in all competitions.

The 32-year-old scored against Hibs last time out and will be on penalty duties for Rangers, despite missing from the spot against the Edinburgh side earlier in that game, so he looks a strong contender to grab a goal for Rangers.

Kyogo Furuhashi to score anytime

Celtic have to go for this as anything other than a win would hand Rangers a clear advantage in the title battle, and Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi looks their most likely scorer.

Furuhashi has scored 10 goals in 31 games this season, a modest figure considering he notched 27 in 36 last term, but he has hit some form over the last few weeks with two goals and an assist in his last three games.

Furuhashi has scored in his last two Old Firm appearances, and can make it three in a row on Sunday.

Matthew O’Riley to be carded

There were a staggering 12 cards dished out in an ill-tempered affair between these two sides in the last meeting, and considering how big this game is for both teams it wouldn’t be a surprise if the referee was the busiest man on the pitch at Ibrox.

Matthew O'Riley looks an interesting option for Celtic despite the fact he has just two bookings in 30 league games for the Hoops.

One of those cards came in a Glasgow Derby, and he is the kind of player who steps up on the big occasion so that could well boil over into physicality in this massive showdown.

Connor Goldson to be carded

For Rangers, Connor Goldson looks a strong card contender as he has accumulated seven yellow cards in his 27 Premiership appearances.

Goldson has two bookings in his last six games across all competitions and averages 0.7 fouls per game in the Scottish Premiership, while he was also booked in the last Old Firm Derby back in December in the closing stages of the game.
