Team news
Jake Clarke-Salter and Alfie Lloyd have both been ruled out of the opening weekend's game for QPR due to injury, while the duo of Michael Frey and Zan Celar are doubts for Saturday.
Jimmy Dunne and Steve Cook were both forced off in the friendly against Brentford last time out, but it's hoped they will be ready for the arrival of the Lilywhites.
As for Preston, Robbie Brady and summer signing Jordan Thompson will play no part on Saturday, while there are doubts regarding the fitness of Brad Potts going into this one.
Queens Park Rangers are 7/5 shots to claim the three points on the opening weekend, while Preston North End are 9/4 to head back to Lancashire with the spoils.
A draw on Saturday is currently 11/5, while both teams to score is available at Evens.
QPR vs Preston Stats
- Preston won one of their final 15 games last season
- QPR have Julian Stephan taking charge of his first home game
QPR to win @ 7/5
With the new-manager boost and with a strong home record against Preston, the 7/5 on offer for a home win on Saturday looks like great value.
The R’s have won three of their last four home games against the Lilywhites, including wins in the last two meetings at Loftus Road.
Preston failed to win any of their last eight games at the end of the last Championship campaign and it’s hard to see Paul Heckingbottom’s side leaving the capital with anything to show for their efforts on Saturday.

Over 2.5 total goals @ 5/4
Looking back at all of Preston’s last six games in the Championship, over 2.5 total goals would have landed in all of them.
Both meetings between these sides at Loftus Road and Deepdale ended in a 2-1 win for QPR and the same score to come in again is available at 17/2.
However, the more conservative approach, which still offers good value, is to go for over 2.5 total goals landing once again in this fixture.
