A relegation six-pointer takes place at Loftus Road on Good Friday (KO, 15:00) as Queens Park Rangers lock horns with fellow strugglers Birmingham City. Only a point separates the sides, with the Blues in 21st spot and the Hoops in 20th, and every point matters with just eight games remaining in the Championship this season.

QPR battled to a 0-0 draw with Sunderland before the international break, while Birmingham's last contest finished as a 1-0 defeat to Watford. Read on for our QPR vs Birmingham prediction, alongside all the latest team news and match odds.

QPR vs Birmingham Betting Tips

  • QPR to win @ 21/20
  • Under 2.5 goals @ 4/6

Team News

Lyndon Dykes should start up top for QPR but Ilias Chair has sustained an injury and could miss out.

Birmingham’s Jay Stansfield was on England Under-21s duty during the week and could be replaced by Lukas Jutkiewicz.

Match Odds

QPR are 21/20 to win, while the draw is 5/2 and Birmingham are priced at 13/5.

Both teams to score is 10/11 and over 2.5 goals is 11/10.

QPR to win @ 21/20

It is hard to make strong cases for either of these teams but QPR have at least enjoyed a bit of a resurgence since mid-February, having occupied a spot in the bottom three for most of the season.

QPR have lost just one of their last six matches in the Championship, recording wins over Bristol City, Rotherham and Leicester as part of that run.

They have also lost only one of their last six games at Loftus Road and they should make life tough for visitors Birmingham.

City have brought back Gary Rowett on an interim basis with Tony Mowbray on sick leave and the hope will be that his arrival triggers an immediate response.

But there is a bit of a chaotic feel to the club right now with Birmingham having lost each of their last three games in the Championship without scoring.

They have failed to win any of their last six matches and their last away win was against Stoke back in January.

With that in mind, QPR look a solid bet to win this match at 21/20.

Under 2.5 goals @ 4/6

Relegation six-pointers like this are often cagey, low-scoring affairs and that could again prove to be the case at Loftus Road.

Things may have been looking up for QPR but goals have still been in short supply, with only 36 goals netted in their 38 league games.

And while Birmingham's tally is a bit higher (42), they have scored just one goal in their last four matches, having drawn blanks against Millwall, Middlesbrough and Watford.

The away side's leading scorer Stansfield (10 goals) has just been on international duty with England Under-21s and there are suggestions he could miss this game, enhancing the appeal about a bet on under 2.5 goals at 4/6.
