Paris Saint-Germain came from behind to take down Liverpool in the round of 16 of the Uefa Champions League, and they will look to dispatch another English side in the quarter-finals. They host Aston Villa in the first leg of this tie at Parc des Princes on Wednesday (20:00, TNT Sports 1).

Villa boss Unai Emery returns to one of his former clubs, having navigated the Villans brilliantly through to this stage of the competition, as they overcame Club Brugge in the round of 16. Below you will find my PSG vs Aston Villa Bet Builder Tips, which pay out at an attractive 3/1.

  • Ousmane Dembele anytime goalscorer
  • Achraf Hakimi & Youri Tielemans 1+ fouls each

PSG to win

PSG were able to make up for their failure to put Liverpool to the sword in Paris in the first leg of the last tie by going on to defeat the Reds at Anfield via penalties. Luis Enrique's side were frighteningly dominant in the home leg but failed to get on the scoresheet.

They will look to avoid history repeating itself and they will bid to give themselves a healthy advantage against Villa ahead of their trip to Villa Park next Tuesday. Les Parisiens will have an added spring in their step on Wednesday as they have already secured the Ligue 1 title - now they can focus solely on the prize they desperately crave.

For the first in a few years, arguably their 2020 final appearance, you believe PSG can venture far in Europe. There's still a long way to go of course, and they are up against a manager they know all too well in Emery, who is a master when it comes to European competition.

Villa may not have the best squad but they have one of the best managers for this level, and that has carried the Villans to this position. They will be braced for their toughest test of the season yet at Parc des Princes, but they will be fired up for it.

Ultimately, I think the home advantage will play into PSG's hands here and they have won three of their six matches here in the UCL already. I fancy them to win, but Villa will certainly make them work for it.

Ousmane Dembele anytime goalscorer

When it comes to picking someone to get on the scoresheet in this game, how can you ignore Ousmane Dembele? The French international has been outstanding this season with 32 goals across all competitions.

Seven of that tally have come in the Champions League and only five players have more than him currently. Dembele is PSG's biggest attacking threat and the fact that he has no weak foot will give Villa's defenders the run around as they try to suppress his talent.

He scored the goal that levelled things up against Liverpool in the round of 16, while he also bagged against another English club in Manchester City during the league phase. Can he make it three-for-three against Villa? I think so.

PSG vs Aston Villa Stats

  • Ousmane Dembele (PSG) has seven goals in the UCL this term
  • Youri Tielemans (AVL) has committed nine fouls in the Champions League

PSG vs Aston Villa Odds

Achraf Hakimi & Youri Tielemans 1+ fouls each

For the next leg of this Bet Builder, I've picked out two players to get penalised four a foul each, picking a player from either side. The PSG star I've picked is Achraf Hakimi, who at right-back is sure to be extremely busy on Wednesday night, defensively and offensively.

For his duties at the back, he is likely going to be tasked with dealing with the threats of England international Morgan Rogers and a familiar foe in Marco Asensio, who joined Villa on loan from Les Parisiens in the latest transfer window.

Hakimi has shown to be clumsy a lot this campaign, having committed 12 fouls in Europe, the second-most of any PSG player. I think he offers good value to get into trouble here.

Midfielder Youri Tielemans is who I have picked out for the visitors. Like Hakimi, he has been a frequent offender with nine fouls to his name. The Belgian faces a tough battle in the middle of the park against the likes of Vitinha, Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz.

Tielemans is not the quickest of players and a lot of the time this tends to be his Achilles heel when trying to snuff out attacks. PSG like to break quickly, so I think he will be in for a long evening in the French capital.

PSG over 4.5 corners

The hosts have had 84 corners in the Champions League this season and only Bayern Munich (94) have more. Across their 12 appearances to date, Les Parisiens are averaging seven corners per game.

They posted a whopping 12 against Liverpool in the home leg of their round of 16 tie, so I think them posting at least five on Wednesday should be relatively straightforward.
