Team News

Transfer speculation linking PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with an exit remains strong, meaning new goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier will make his Parc des Princes debut.

Marquinhos, Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue, Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi are all set to return to the side, but Senny Mayulu and Presnel Kimpembe are out due to injury.

Angers are missing Louis Mouton through suspension after his red card in the league opener against Paris FC.

PSG vs Angers SCO Stats

  • PSG have won their last six matches against Angers
  • Angers have scored in two of their last three matches against PSG
  • Five of PSG’s last six matches against Angers have seen less than 3.5 goals scored

PSG vs Angers SCO Odds

PSG are firm 1/12 favourites to win this game on home soil, with Angers priced at 28/1 for a surprise victory and the draw available at 10/1.

Angers +3 on Handicap @ 21/20

With PSG such clear favourites for the win, there is little value in backing Les Parisiens to take all three points.

It could turn out to be a relatively comfortable home win, but PSG have not dispatched Angers all that easily in recent years.

Backing Angers in the +3 handicap market was a winning bet in the last four meetings between the pair and in five of their previous six encounters.

Having taken part in the Club World Cup, PSG skipped pre-season friendlies to give their players an extended summer break and only returned to action with the 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Super Cup.

This was followed quickly by the 1-0 win over Nantes in their opening Ligue 1 fixture, but Luis Enrique’s side did not look anywhere near their best in either contest.

Catching them this early in the season could be key to Angers' chances of avoiding a heavy loss.

Under 3.5 total goals @ 6/5

Only once in the last six meetings between the pair were four or more goals scored and there may not be a plethora of strikes in Friday’s clash.

While PSG have a plethora of ferocious attacking talent to call upon, they did not look fully up to match speed in either of their two matches so far this season.

This lack of sharpness can be put down to their summer excursions at the Club World Cup and the decision to skip pre-season friendlies as a result.

With Angers showing their defensive capabilities last time out against Paris FC, playing the final half an hour with only 10 men, Alexandre Dujeux’s side proved they can be a tough team to break down and that defensive stubbornness will be key if they are to put up a fight against the reigning Ligue 1 champions.
