The Champions League returns in midweek for the conclusion of the two semi-finals, starting on Tuesday evening with Borussia Dortmund’s trip to France to face Paris Saint-Germain.

Dortmund hold a slight 1-0 advantage from the home first leg in Germany and are looking to reach a first European final since 2013, where they were beaten 2-1 by bitter rivals Bayern Munich at Wembley.

A return to the home of English football is on the cards if they can hold on to their slender lead but Edin Terzic’s men are likely to face a tough time of things when they visit the Parc des Princes, with PSG losing just twice here in all competitions all season.

PSG to win

After producing an impressive performance in their comeback victory at Barcelona in the previous round, the Parisians will be brimming with confidence as they look to reach a first Champions League final since 2020.

Paris have been dominant at home both domestically and on the continent with no side scoring more goals at home in Ligue 1 than PSG’s 41 this season, while only five sides have scored more times than the French side’s 19 in this competition.

This will be the second time that PSG have hosted Dortmund this season, having been drawn together in the group stages. Paris eased to a 2-0 victory in September and so should be able to produce another winning performance on Tuesday.

Kylian Mbappe to score anytime

Although they possess an abundance of talent and goalscoring quality throughout the squad, there is no doubt that Kylian Mbappe will be the dangerman for PSG.

The striker - who is expected to join Real Madrid in the summer - is the joint top scorer in the Champions League this season with eight goals, while the 25-year-old has also netted 26 goals in Ligue 1, nine more than second placed Jonathan David of Lille.

With four goals across his last four appearances, Mbappe is showing no sign of slowing his scoring form down and, after netting in this fixture in September, he will be expected to be amongst the goals again.

Niclas Fullkrug to score a header

Dortmund striker Niclas Fullkrug scored the only goal in the first leg and the German could provide the biggest goal threat for the visitors on Tuesday.

The 6ft 2in striker provides plenty of physicality in and around the penalty area and provides a dangerous threat from aerial balls - scoring an impressive glancing header in their 4-2 victory over Atletico Madrid in the previous round.

Fullkrug may be living off of scraps in this encounter, but he will likely make his presence known in the penalty area and should be able to threaten the PSG goal if he can be found from wide areas.
