Saturday 3rd January 2026, 6:30am

Wolves' predicament at the bottom of the Premier League is so severe that talk of avoiding relegation has been replaced with just bettering Derby’s record low points tally of 11 which came in the 2007-08 season.

They will hope to take a big step towards that when hosting West Ham on Saturday afternoon (15:00). Read on for my Wolves vs West Ham predictions, complete with the latest odds and team news.

Wolves vs West Ham Odds

Wolves are 7/5 to collect what would be their first victory of the Premier League season. West Ham are 9/5 to pick up a much-needed success and the draw is a big runner at 11/5.

Over 2.5 goals is a 10/11 chance, while both teams to score can be backed at 4/6.

Team News

Wolves are without a whole host of players. Rodrigo Gomes, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Marshall Munetsi, Daniel Bentley and Toti Gomes are on the sidelines and Tawanda Chirewa and Emmanuel Agbadou are on international duty.

West Ham have been linked with a move for Wolves forward Jorgen Strand Larsen, but Callum Wilson looks likely to start up front for the Hammers.

Lukasz Fabianski is out injured, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka and El Hadji Diouf are at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Wolves to win @ 7/5

Wolves are in dire straits at the bottom of the Premier League and any hopes of avoiding the drop have long since faded.

However, Edwards' side played with credit in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in midweek and that result followed positive performances in narrow single-goal margin defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal.

Of course, Wolves have collected only three points all season and that can’t be ignored, but the Molineux men may be able to get the better of a poor West Ham side.

The Hammers have failed to win any of their last eight top-flight matches and a lack of attacking output is a major concern. Nuno Espirito Santo’s striking options appear limited to Callum Wilson and the former Newcastle man is no longer up to the job.

The Irons have found the net only six times in their last seven Premier League matches, and at the same time, the east Londoners have been wide-open at the back.

It’s nine goals conceded in four games for the Hammers and if the pragmatic Nuno can’t find the key to tightening a defence, you wonder who can.

Betting a team who have failed to win in 19 Premier League matches doesn’t appear the best punting strategy, but Wolves look a play in this spot.

Hwang Hee-Chan to score first @ 13/2

Wolves have scored only 11 goals in 19 Premier League matches this season, but Edwards' side did pose a threat at Old Trafford last time out.

The Molineux side have faced United twice, Liverpool, Brentford and Arsenal in their last five top-flight matches and they have found the net in all of those games, bar a 2-0 defeat to the Bees.

Hwang Hee-Chan has notched only one top-flight goal, but the South Korean has made only nine starts and the 29-year-old carried plenty of threat at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

West Ham have kept only one clean sheet in nine Premier League away matches this term and Hee-Chan could open the scoring at Molineux.
