Defeat at Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday has kept West Ham United in the relegation zone. They are struggling to make the most of Tottenham Hotspur's plight, leaving the Irons with work to do in their final seven matches.

Below I take a look at the West Ham relegation odds and assess how likely they are to go down based on the opponents they have left to play.

West Ham Relegation Odds

  • West Ham to be relegated @ 6/5
  • West Ham to stay up @ 8/13

West Ham Relegation Odds

With West Ham it has very much been a case of be careful what you wish for. In recent years, we had grown accustomed to seeing the Hammers challenge towards the other end of the Premier League table for places in European competitions.

Former boss David Moyes led them to the semi-finals (2021/22) and quarter-finals (2023/24) of the Uefa Europa League, with their Uefa Conference League triumph sandwiched between those two campaigns.

In his second stint in charge, Moyes inherited a West Ham side that were just above the relegation zone in 2019, so what he was able to accomplish in almost five years was most impressive.

Despite his success, not all supporters were happy. Many had decided that the football was rubbish, even though it was proven to be very effective for the team. The naysayers eventually got what they wanted as Moyes left the club at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Almost two years later and West Ham have not been able to build on the foundations put in place by the Scottish coach. Nuno Espirito Santo is the third person to take the job on after Julen Lopetegui and Graham Potter.

With fans having pushed for change when it wasn't necessarily needed, West Ham now face their first relegation from the Premier League in 15 years. There is still time to change their fate, however. The Irons have 21 points left to play for and they are currently one away from safety.

Tottenham are dropping like a stone and they have lost eight of their past 11 outings in the top flight. They are not showing any signs that they are going to correct their course and they are still without a league win since the turn of the year.

West Ham have four victories in 2026 but it looks like they will need a couple more to avoid dropping down to the Championship.

Their run-in does not look like plain sailing, though. Next up is a home clash against bottom side Wolves, who have picked up some impressive wins over Villa and Liverpool in recent weeks.

The remaining fixtures after that are: Crystal Palace (A), Everton (H), Brentford (A), Arsenal (H), Newcastle United (A) and Leeds United (H).

It's not an ideal fixture list but there are some games that West Ham should be looking at to come away with a point at least. Palace's form has not been great since December, while Brentford are in a habit of drawing right now.

Newcastle are another side who are inconsistent at the moment and they are not looking as strong at home as they used to be (four defeats from five matches at St. James' Park).

There is a reunion with Moyes to manage when Everton come to town but the biggest fixture that lies ahead is arguably Leeds at home on the final day. The Whites are still not out of danger themselves as just four points separate them from West Ham. This contest could have a lot riding on it in May.

The two teams will get an opportunity to size one another up before that meeting, however, as they collide in the FA Cup quarter-finals at the London Stadium on April 5.

West Ham may be in the bottom three at this stage but they are showing more fight than Tottenham and I think they will be able to pick up a couple of key results from their remaining seven games. If you don't agree, the Irons are 6/5 to be relegated with Betfred.
