Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham Prediction: Misery collides in the capital

A London derby between two teams having poor seasons comes our way on Saturday afternoon as Tottenham Hotspur host West Ham United (15:00 GMT).
Thomas Frank remains under pressure, while Nuno Espirito Santo looks set to be sacked for the second time this season if results don’t improve at the London Stadium. Below you can find my Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham predictions as we search for a couple of winners.

Team News
Conor Gallagher has arrived at Tottenham from Atletico Madrid for £34.7m, and the former Chelsea man is expected to come straight into the squad for this one, and potentially make his Spurs debut.
Rodrigo Bentancur underwent hamstring surgery, so a replacement was needed, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him thrown straight in to play alongside Joao Palhinha or Archie Gray.
Richarlison is a major doubt after being taken off against Aston Villa last Saturday with a suspected hamstring injury.
Up top, Randal Kolo Muani is expected to continue, with Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel all in line to support him. Djed Spence may come back into the back four.
West Ham needed extra time to beat QPR in the FA Cup, and it will be interesting to see if Nuno sticks with a back five or reverts to the back four. Konstantinos Mavropanos was taken off with an issue at half-time and might miss out, leaving Nuno with just Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo as senior centre-backs.
That might force him to change back to a four, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Kyle Walker-Peters available at full-back. Matheus Fernandes and Tomas Soucek should feature in midfield, while Lucas Paqueta is set to be available despite pushing for a move to Brazil this window.
Tottenham vs West Ham Predicted Lineups
- Tottenham - Vicario; Spence, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Gray, Gallagher; Tel, Simons, Odobert; Kolo Muani
- West Ham - Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Kilman, Todibo, Walker-Peters; Soucek, Fernandes, Paqueta; Bowen, Summerville, Castellanos
Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham Odds
Tottenham are the odds-on favourites for this one at 7/10, giving them an implied win percentage of 59% for this home clash. A draw is 11/4, and West Ham are 7/2 for a shock away win.
BTTS and over 2.5 goals, meanwhile, are both 4/6.
Tottenham vs West Ham Stats
- Tottenham have failed to win their last four
- West Ham have lost their last two away games to nil
- West Ham were 11 games without a win in all competitions before beating QPR in 120 minutes
Under 2.5 goals @ 11/10
Can’t trust either of these attacks right now. Nor can I trust the defences on show, but I do think this will be a poor game of football, with two nervy sets of fans watching on. Neither fanbase is enamoured with their current manager or the style of football they are seeing, so I think it will be a tepid occasion at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
A word of caution, only 33% of West Ham’s matches have ended with fewer than three goals, while Spurs sit at 38%. However, three of the last four Tottenham games in the Premier League have seen under 2.5 - so let’s pick it out at above EVS.

Tottenham to win to nil @ 15/8
I don’t like this selection, but here it is. Spurs should have enough on paper to beat this beleaguered West Ham outfit, but there’s not a lot to go with aside from that. I like the fact that West Ham have lost their last two away Premier League games without scoring, and they were 11 games without a win in all competitions before beating QPR in 120 minutes at the weekend.
Small stakes only for this unpredictable game between two miserable sides, but these are the two picks I would go for.
