The top flight returns after the international break, kicking off at the City Ground as Chelsea visit a Nottingham Forest side still looking for their first win under Ange Postecoglou.

Dan Thomas is here to crunch the numbers and find the best betting angles for every game as he picks out key Premier League Stats from across the games this weekend...

  • Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea
  • Saturday, 12:30
  • Live on TNT Sports

Key stat: Nottingham Forest have lost four of their last five Premier League games, failing to score in each defeat, while Chelsea have won three of their last four away league games against the Tricky Trees.

Suggested bet: Given the Forest chairman's combustible personality, Ange Postecoglou is probably slightly relieved he's made it through the international break without getting the sack, but things don't get any easier on Saturday with the visit of Chelsea. Enzo Maresca's men will still be riding on the crest of a wave after the win over Liverpool last time out and just under evens on an away win looks like a solid play.

Brighton vs Newcastle United

Saturday, 15:00

Key stat: Newcastle have failed to score in each of their last four Premier League away games, with all of the last three ending 0-0.

Suggested bet: Anyone who has had the misfortune of sitting through any of Newcastle's away games this season - bitter, me? - may well fancy backing yet another 0-0 at 10/1 but Brighton don't really do clean sheets. We can, however, back Under 2.5 Goals at a shade under evens here and that's the approach for this one.

  • Burnley vs Leeds United
  • Saturday, 15:00

Key stat: Both teams have scored in six of Burnley's last seven matches across all competitions, with the Clarets only failing to score in two of their seven outings in the Premier League, but also conceding the most shots on target (18.7 per game) and expected goals (15.7) in the league.

Suggested bet: Burnley were the great misers in the Championship last season but the step up to the top flight and the departure of James Trafford and CJ Egan-Riley has flipped the script and they have looked very vulnerable at times. Scott Parker's men have scored in defeat in the last three in all competitions and we'll back a repeat here against a Leeds side who were unlucky not to get something last time out against Spurs and recorded a 3-1 win against Wolves on their last away trip.

  • Crystal Palace vs Bournemouth
  • Saturday, 15:00

Key stat: Since the beginning of last season, 17 of Bournemouth's 22 away games have seen three goals or more, while nine of Palace's last 15 at Selhurst Park have gone over 2.5 goals.

Suggested bet: It's a battle of possibly the two most in-demand managers in the league on Saturday as Oliver Glasner's Palace host Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth and it should be a cracker. The Eagles were very unfortunate to lose their long unbeaten record at Everton last time out and will be up for the battle against a Cherries side who hammered three past Fulham. Given the stats above, I was pleasantly surprised to see Over 2.5 Goals at nearly even money and we'll be going in.

  • Manchester City vs Everton
  • Saturday, 15:00

Key stat: Erling Haaland has scored nine goals in Man City's seven Premier League games this season, and 19 goals across all competitions and internationals (10 matches).

Suggested bet: Interviewed after City's win at Brentford before the international break, Erling Haaland said he'd never felt in better form and we aren't going to bet against him finding the net again when Everton visit on Saturday. Given this has been chalked up at just 7/10, we'll add in the home win to take us nearer to evens - Everton are winless in their last 14 trips to the Etihad, losing eight.  Everton are winless in their last 14 away Premier League games against Manchester City.

Note: To place this bet - please use the Bet Builder tab on the Manchester City vs Everton market page.

  • Sunderland vs Wolves
  • Saturday, 15:00

Key stat: Just one of Sunderland's seven Premier League goals this season has been scored in the first half. They have had 27 shots and 2.4 xG in the opening 45 minutes of games this term, compared to 43 shots and 3.9 xG after half-time.

Suggested bet: Wolves have finally shown signs of life in the last two games, with creditable draws against Brighton and Tottenham, but they're not quite reliable enough yet to back for a result at a Sunderland side who've been good at home. Instead, we'll take the odds-against price on more goals in the second half, given the Mackems' struggles to find the net before the half-time whistle this season.

  • Fulham vs Arsenal
  • Saturday, 17:30
  • Live on Sky Sports

Key stat: Six of Fulham's nine matches in all competitions this season have seen fewer than three goals, while seven of Arsenal's 10 games have also gone under 2.5 goals.

Suggested bet: Arsenal sit on top of the table after seven games, largely due to their highly impressive defensive solidity - conceding just three goals - and ability to 'get the job done' in games. The trip to a Fulham side beset by attacking injuries looks set for another low scoring victory, with the Gunners perfectly happy to get ahead in the game and play out for time. We'll take an away win with under 3.5 goals using the Bet Builder.

  • Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa
  • Sunday, 14:00
  • Live on Sky Sports

Key stat: Mohammed Kudus has more assists than any other Premier League player so far this season, with five goal-creating passes in seven games.

Suggested bet: This is a particularly hard game to call; Spurs have had an impressive start to the season and sit in third place but have underwhelmed at home, while Villa have won the last four in all competitions but were very poor at the start of the campaign. So we'll leave the match odds well alone and dip into the player markets to back Mohammed Kudus to add to his impressive assists tally. The former West Ham man has settled into life in north London very nicely and should be on corner duty.

  • Liverpool vs Manchester United
  • Sunday, 16:30
  • Live on Sky Sports

Key stat: Seven of the last eight matches between these two sides have seen at least four cards handed out, as well as five of the previous six encounters at Anfield.

Suggested bet: Another hard game to call - Liverpool are rightly favourites, but they have plenty of questions to answer after three defeats in a row and it's clear that Arne Slot is still working out how to integrate his new superstar signings. So we'll focus on bookings here; both teams will be up for the fight and Michael Oliver, who's handed out 19 cards in three previous Liverpool vs Man Utd fixtures, is ref. We'll back over 52.5pts in the cards market (yellows are worth 10, reds 25).

  • West Ham United vs Brentford
  • Monday, 20:00
  • Live on Sky Sports

Key stat: West Ham have lost all of their home games at the London Stadium this season, while Brentford are pointless on their travels.

Suggested bet: The stats suggest the Monday night clash might be a case of the 'immovable object vs the unstoppable force', with both sides struggling to make an impact. There is an assumption that Nuno Espirito Santo will immediately improve West Ham, but I suspect that may take time and I'll back Brentford to pick up a point here, especially given the Hammers struggles on set pieces, which of course was Keith Andrews' full-time job not so long ago.
