Premier League Stats & Best Bets for Week 28

Bournemouth vs Brentford

Tuesday, 19:30

Live on TNT Sports 4

Key stat: Bournemouth are on an unbeaten run of eight games and have drawn more than any other side this season (12), while they’ve never beaten Brentford in seven attempts in the Premier League.

Best bet: Two of this season’s great entertainers - admittedly a low bar in what has been a turgid campaign - meet on Tuesday and there should be plenty of goalmouth action. There have been three or more in 15 of Bournemouth’s last 24, while Over 2.5 Goals has been a winner in five of the last six meetings between these sides. That outcome is too short to back at 8/13 so with little between the sides and the Cherries being the stalemate specialists, we’ll double the draw with both teams to score at a decent price.

Bet module: Back the draw and both teams to score at 10/3

Everton vs Burnley

Tuesday, 19:30

Live on TNT Sports 3

Key stat: Everton are winless in their last six Premier League home games, while Burnley have come from behind to avoid defeat in three of their last four away league matches.

Best bet: Absolute heartbreak for Burnley at the weekend as they were inches away from pulling off the comeback of the season against Brentford, only to end up on the wrong side of a 4-3. But the game showed the players are still battling on for Scott Parker and having picked up points at Liverpool, Chelsea and Crystal Palace this year, they can avoid defeat again against an Everton side who’ve only won four times at home all season.

Bet module: Back Burnley/Draw Double Chance at 13/10

Leeds United vs Sunderland

Tuesday, 19:30

Live on TNT Sports 2

Key stat: Nine of Leeds’ 12 home games this season have seen three or more goals, while six in Sunderland’s last eight have breached the Over 2.5 Goals line.

Best bet: Having picked up maximum points in five of their first nine Premier League games this season Sunderland have won just four of their last 19, but they got a creditable draw at Bournemouth at the weekend and inconsistent Leeds look too short to support at an odds-on price. We’ll head instead to the goals markets, where Over 2.5 is a backable evens - only St James Park has seen a higher percentage of games with three or more goals than Elland Road and both sides will fancy their chances of getting a result here.

Bet module: Back Over 2.5 Goals at 1/1

Wolves vs Liverpool

Tuesday, 20:15

Live on TNT Sports 1

Key stat: Wolves have been all square at half-time in 14 of their 29 Premier League matches this season, while their last five games in all competitions saw just one goal before the break.

Best bet: Some much needed cheer for Wolves fans on Friday night as they secured just their second win of the season, beating local rivals Aston Villa. The game saw a typically cagey start for Rob Edwards’ men and we can expect more from the same against a Liverpool side who have been free scoring at home in recent weeks but had to battle to edge past Sunderland and Nottingham on the road, with both games goalless at the break. We’ll back the half-time draw here.

Bet module: Back half-time draw at 6/4

Aston Villa vs Chelsea

Wednesday, 19:30

Live on TNT Sports 3

Key stat: Aston Villa have won just two of their last eight Premier League games (D3 L3), netting just five goals in this run (0.6 per game).

Best bet: Having been a potential title contender a few weeks’ back, Aston Villa are now nervously looking over their shoulders in the race for Champions League spots and this match could be a pivotal one in that battle. Unai Emery’s men have won only one of their last four at Villa Park and have to be opposed here but Chelsea have only picked up two points in their last three, having been shown yet another red card at Arsenal (tipped on these pages at 4/1). We’ll back the stalemate here.

Bet module: Back the draw at 13/5

Brighton vs Arsenal

Wednesday, 19:30

Live on TNT Sports 2

Key stat: Arsenal lost two of their first three Premier League trips to Brighton, but are unbeaten in their last five visits, scoring seven in the past two seasons.

Best bet: Brighton have often been a thorn in Arsenal’s side in recent years but more often than not at the Emirates rather than on home turf, where they haven’t beaten the Gunners since 2020. The Seagulls have scored in 11 of their 14 at the Amex this season and can find the net again against an Arsenal side without a clean sheet in four, but Mikel Arteta’s men will likely have too much in the end.

Bet module: Back Arsenal to win and both teams to score at 5/2

Fulham vs West Ham

Wednesday, 19:30

Live on TNT Sports 5

Key stat: There have been three goals or more in 10 of Fulham’s last 11 matches and in nine of West Ham’s last 13.

Best bet: Fulham come into their second consecutive London derby in a row in decent shape, looking for their fourth win on the bounce in all competitions. The win over Tottenham was more comfortable than the 2-1 scoreline suggested but it was another payout for Over 2.5 Goals backers. West Ham’s 5-2 defeat at Liverpool was another scoreline that didn’t tell the whole story; the Hammers actually won the xG battle but their fallibility at set pieces cost them dearly. There should be goals here but we’ll take Marco Silva’s men to edge it.

Bet module: Back Fulham to win and Over 2.5 Goals at 19/10

Manchester City vs Nottingham Forest

Wednesday, 19:30

Live on TNT Sports 4

Key stat: Since returning to the Premier League in 2022/23, Nottingham Forest have lost all three of their away Premier League games against Man City without scoring, conceding 11 times.

Best bet: Manchester City put in a solid performance to inflict just Leeds’ third defeat in 15 on Saturday night, with the 1-0 win their third victory in the last four without conceding. Marc Guehi has immediately slotted into the back four for Pep Guardiola’s men and they look set to push Arsenal all the way. Vitor Pereira has begun life at Nottingham Forest with two league defeats on the bounce and it’s to see anything other than a home win here. We can boost the home price from 4/11 to 13/10 by adding a clean sheet and that’s the play.

Bet module: Back Manchester City to win to nil at 13/10

Newcastle United vs Manchester United

Wednesday, 20:15

Live on TNT Sports 1

Key stat: Bruno Fernandes has 13 Premier League assists this season, the most by a Manchester United player in a single campaign since Antonio Valencia in 2011/12.

Best bet: Michael Carrick’s claims for the full-time role at Manchester United were further strengthened by the come-from-behind win against Palace, meaning it’s now 19 points from 21 under the former midfield maestro. Pushing Bruno Fernandes back into the 10 role has paid dividends, with the Portuguese notching five assists and two goals in Carrick’s seven matches in charge. We’ll back another Bruno assist here, with Man Utd to avoid defeat and Over 2.5 Goals; Newcastle’s last three at home have all ended with five goals.

Bet module: Back Man Utd Double Chance, Bruno assist and Over 2.5 Goals at 9/2

Tottenham vs Crystal Palace

Thursday, 20:00

Live on TNT Sports 1

Key stat: Tottenham have won just one of their last 13 home games in the Premier League, while Crystal Palace have lost only one of their last nine away London derby matches

Best bet: Hopes that Igor Tudor would provide an immediate new manager bounce have already faded for Tottenham, with the performance at Fulham as bad as anything seen in the Thomas Frank reign. Crystal Palace haven’t been setting the world alight in recent weeks amid a fallout between Oliver Glasner and the fans but important wins over Wolves and Brighton have kept them away from the relegation dogfight. It’s hard to back either side with any confidence, but given Tottenham’s travails, 2/1 on the Eagles is the call.

Bet module: Back Crystal Palace to win at 2/1
