Premier League Stats & Best Bets for Week 13

  • Brentford vs Burnley
  • Saturday, 15:00

Key stat: Only Arsenal and Man City have won more home games (5 each) and scored more home goals (16 each) than Brentford in the Premier League this season (4 wins, 12 goals).

Best bet: Fears that the departures of Thomas Frank, Bryan Mbuemo and Yohan Wissa would derail Brentford's season have so far proven unfounded with Keith Andrews' men comfortably in midtable (one place behind Liverpool). Their excellent home form has been the basis of this good start and they should have more than enough in the tank to overcome a Burnley outfit who've lost five in six on the road. With plenty of goals in Bees' home games we'll add Over 2.5 Goals to give us an odds-against price.

  • Manchester City vs Leeds United
  • Saturday, 15:00

Key stat: Man City have won each of their last five Premier League at the Etihad by an aggregate score of 16-2 and are looking to win their sixth consecutive home league games by at least 2+ goals.

Best bet: Leeds have lost five of their last six Premier League games, including the last three in a row, and the last thing they would have wanted is a trip to the Etihad, where City have been rampant since losing to Spurs in August. Pep Guardiola's men have been inconsistent on the road, but a comfortable home victory is in prospect here - we'll back them to beat a two-goal handicap and pile the pressure on Daniel Farke.

Manchester City vs Leeds United - Handicap +2
Manchester City -2

  • Sunderland vs Bournemouth
  • Saturday, 15:00

Key stat: Sunderland are unbeaten at home in the Premier League so far this season (W3 D3), while Bournemouth have lost four of their last seven league away games.

Best bet: Sunderland were unusually poor at Fulham last time out but the Stadium of Light has been a fortress so far this season and they'll be looking for a rapid response when Bournemouth come to town on Saturday. The Cherries just about avoided a humiliating home defeat to West Ham last weekend and have struggled for consistency this campaign. At bigger than 2/1 we have to back the Black Cats here.

  • Everton vs Newcastle United
  • Saturday, 17:30
  • Live on: Sky Sports

Key stat: Newcastle are winless in nine Premier League away games (D4 L5), but only Arsenal and Crystal Palace (3 each) have conceded fewer first half goals than the Magpies (4).

Best bet: When Idrissa Gueye was sent off for hitting Michael Keane early on at Old Trafford on Monday, all signs pointed to it being a dreadful night for Everton but instead they put in perhaps their best performance of the season in winning 1-0 with 10 men. They'll be confident of building on that win against a Newcastle outfit who have been terrible on the road. Eddie Howe's men don't concede many before the break, however, so we'll take a flyer on Draw/Everton in the Half-Time/Full-Time market at a big price.

  • Tottenham vs Fulham
  • Saturday, 20:00
  • Live on: Sky Sports

Key stat: Spurs have won just two of their last nine games in all competitions, a run which has included a 1-0 defeat at home to Chelsea in which they recorded 0.10 expected goals, and last weekend's 4-1 defeat at Arsenal where their xG figure was 0.07.

Best bet: Tottenham were picking up points regularly at the start of the season, but no side has overperformed their xG more (20 goals, 11.2 xG) and reality was always going to bite at some point. The appalling performances against their two biggest rivals have led many Tottenham fans to question Thomas Frank and the game against Fulham has suddenly become huge for the Dane. Spurs let the handbrake off against PSG in midweek but in truth that was a free hit and this is likely to be a turgid affair. We'll back the Cottagers to avoid defeat and Under 2.5 Goals at 2/1.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Fulham - Double Chance & Over/Under +2.5

  • Crystal Palace vs Manchester United
  • Sunday, 12:00
  • Live on TNT Sports

Key stat: Crystal Palace are unbeaten in their last 12 Premier League home games (W6 D6) while only league leaders Arsenal (6) have conceded fewer goals than their nine this season.

Best bet: It's the battle of the two 3-4-2-1 acolytes at Selhurst on Sunday lunchtime and safe to say Oliver Glasner has been executing his favoured plan better than Ruben Amorim. Man Utd have failed to score in each of their last four Premier League games against the Eagles, although they did manage a 0-0 in south London last season. Palace being in European action on Thursday night puts me off backing them for the straight win, but I'll take the hosts to avoid defeat in a double with Under 2.5 Goals which pays out at just under 2/1.

  • Aston Villa vs Wolves
  • Sunday, 14:05
  • Live on: Sky Sports

Key stat: Morgan Rogers has been involved in five goals in his last seven Premier League games for Aston Villa, who have won six of their last seven in the top flight.

Best bet: A hard-fought win at Leeds time out catapulted Villa into fourth place - they were 18th at one point after a tough start to the season - and Morgan Rogers has been central to their return to form. The England man scored both goals at Elland Road and has looked back to his best after starting the campaign slowly. We'll back Morgan to find the net in a home win against a sorry looking Wolves outfit.

  • Nottingham Forest vs Brighton
  • Sunday, 14:05
  • Live on: Sky Sports

Key stat: Just five of Brighton's 19 Premier League points this season have come away from home. Only Newcastle, Brentford and Fulham have won a lower share on the road.

Best bet: Forest made it three consecutive wins while scoring 3+ goals when beating Malmo 3-0 in the Europa League on Thursday - Dyche-ball 2.0 is working a treat - and they'll have great memories of facing Brighton at the City Ground, scene of that incredible 7-0 win last season. The Seagulls look as good as ever at home but are struggling on the road and the price on a Forest win is too big to ignore.

  • West Ham vs Liverpool
  • Sunday, 14:05
  • Live on: Sky Sports

Key stat: Liverpool have lost nine of their last 12 games in all competitions, their worst run for 70 years, and have conceded 20 goals in their 12 league games this season.

Best bet: Arne Slot has a "week to save his job" according to Jamie Carragher and that starts at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Reds have been all over the place defensively, conceding 10 in their last three, and the Dutchman needs to stop the rot. The Hammers are usually hospitable hosts - see last year's 5-0 win for Liverpool - but they have started to pick up in recent weeks, with two home wins and a creditable draw at Bournemouth, and we'll take a chance on Nuno's men inflicting another defeat on the champions at a decent price.

  • Chelsea vs Arsenal
  • Sunday, 16:30
  • Live on: Sky Sports

Key stat: Having lost six of their seven Premier League away games against Chelsea between 2013 and 2018 (D1), Arsenal are now unbeaten in their last six visits to Stamford Bridge (W3 D3).

Best bet: Since their shock home defeat by Sunderland, Chelsea have won three on the bounce in the Premier League without conceding and come into this one on the back of their most impressive result under Enzo Maresca, a 3-0 dismantling of Barcelona in the Champions League. Arsenal will be their toughest test yet, but one senses both managers might be happy with the draw here and that's the play.
