Premier league predictions

Nick has a very healthy lead in our Premier League predictions leaderboard after four correct scores last time out. Myself (Conor) and Simon have a long way to go to try and catch him up, but we will give it our best shot for Gameweek 13.

Brentford vs Burnley (Sat 15:00) - 2-0 @ 6/1

Brentford will be disappointed at the fact that they didn't come away from Brighton & Hove Albion with anything last weekend. Igor Thiago had a chance to equalise from the penalty spot in injury time to equalise but his effort was saved by Bart Verbruggen.

The Bees will look to respond at home against Burnley, who were beaten 2-0 at home to Chelsea last time out. Brentford have been a very strong force at home, winning four of their six league games at the Gtech Community Stadium - and I fancy this trend to continue.

Nick: 2-1

Simon: 2-0

Man City vs Leeds (Sat 15:00) - 4-0 @ 11/1

After successive defeats to Newcastle United and Bayer Leverkusen, Manchester City will have to go back to the drawing board. They welcome Leeds United to the Etihad, who let their one-goal lead slip to lose at home to Aston Villa last weekend.

Pressure is starting to build on boss Daniel Farke, and the Whites have struggled when playing away from home, and I think that City can put on a show as they try to get back on track.

Nick: 6-0

Simon: 3-0

Premier League Odds

Sunderland vs Bournemouth (Sat 15:00) - 2-2 @ 12/1

Sunderland were left disappointed as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at Fulham last weekend, and now the Black Cats are winless in their past three top-flight outings. They are back at the Stadium of Light on Saturday as they entertain AFC Bournemouth, who fought from two goals down to draw at home against West Ham United last time out.

The Cherries have not been particularly strong on their travels, winning just one of their six away trips so far. They have been beaten three times but have managed two draws, and this is the outcome I am leaning towards on Wearside.

Nick: 1-2

Simon: 2-1

Everton vs Newcastle (Sat 17:30) - 2-2 @ 12/1

After an impressive 1-0 win with 10 men against Manchester United on Monday, Everton should be full of confidence ahead of their home clash with Newcastle United.

The Magpies were 2-1 winners at home to Man City last weekend, but they are yet to win on their travels. I think the two teams can end up cancelling each other out on Merseyside, and I predict there will be a few goals, too.

Nick: 2-0

Tottenham vs Fulham (Sat 20:00) - 2-2 @ 12/1

Tottenham Hotspur were left humiliated in last week's north London derby as Arsenal defeated them 4-1 at the Emirates. Thomas Frank's side have now lost three of their previous five appearances in the top flight.

They host Fulham on Saturday night, and with Spurs having the second-worst home form in the division, I'm not convinced they will win this clash. The Cottagers picked up a decent win against Sunderland, but their away form is equally as bad, and they are yet to win away from Craven Cottage.

Both teams look vulnerable defensively, so I think the draw looks sensible.

Nick: 2-1

Simon: 2-0

Crystal Palace vs Man United (Sun 12:00) - 2-0 @ 12/1

Crystal Palace made light work of Wolves at Molineux last weekend in what was Rob Edwards' first game in charge of the Old Gold. The Eagles won 2-0, and they should be feeling confident ahead of their home meeting with Man United on Sunday.

The Red Devils were poor at home against Everton on Monday, and if they play anywhere near as badly here, Palace could win this comfortably.

Nick: 2-0

Simon: 1-1

Villa vs Wolves (Sun 14:05) - 3-0 @ 10/1

Aston Villa have won four of their last five matches in the Premier League ahead of their Midlands clash with Wolves at Villa Park. Unai Emery's side are hitting their stride, which cannot be said for the visitors, who remain winless after the first 12 games of the season.

This Wolves team is unquestionably one of the worst to ever feature at this level, and Edwards is going to really struggle to turn their current situation around. This should be a routine victory for the home team.

Simon: 2-0

Forest vs Brighton (Sun 14:05) - 2-2 @ 11/1

Nottingham Forest profited from Liverpool's downturn in form last week as they went and won 3-0 at Anfield. Sean Dyche is starting to get the Tricky Trees to tick as they have now won two games in a row in the top flight.

They take on Brighton at the City Ground on Sunday, with the Seagulls looking to build on their home win over Brentford. The visitors haven't had a lot of joy on their travels so far, but they have the attacking quality to cause problems for Forest.

Nick: 1-2

Simon: 2-1

West Ham vs Liverpool (Sun 14:05) - 1-2 @ 7/1

This probably looks ridiculous given Liverpool's poor form, but sooner or later, they are going to get back on track. It took me a while to come to this scoreline against West Ham, given the Irons' current unbeaten run, but the Reds have a lot of individual quality, and I do think they can rise to the occasion here.

Nick: 1-3

Simon: 2-2

Chelsea vs Arsenal (Sun 16:30) - 1-3 @ 16/1

Chelsea and Arsenal renew their rivalry on Sunday as the pair meet at Stamford Bridge. After an impressive win against Barcelona in midweek, the Blues will likely be feeling they can cause a lot of problems for the league leaders.

However, Arsenal's excellent defensive record is not to be ignored, and they are starting to show their attacking quality with the number of goals they are scoring at the moment.

For the second week in a row, I'm backing the Gunners to win comfortably against a London rival.

Nick: 2-2

Simon: 0-2
