Nottingham Forest secured a creditable point in the Uefa Europa League on Wednesday, drawing 2-2 with Real Betis in Seville, but Ange Postecoglou is still winless in four games as head coach of the Garibaldi (D2, L2), ahead of their Premier League match with Sunderland at the City Ground on Saturday (17:30 BST, Sky Sports Main Event).

Below are my Nottingham Forest vs Sunderland Stats-Based Bet Builder Tips, as the visitors look to extend their three-match unbeaten run.

Both Teams to Score - Yes

Both teams have scored in three of Forest's first five Premier League games this season, and five of their seven across all competitions, including their last three.

For Sunderland, BTTS-Yes has struck in three of their last four matches across all competitions.

Football Odds

Sunderland have failed to score in both away trips so far, losing 2-0 at Burnley and drawing 0-0 at Crystal Palace, but the Black Cats should fancy their chances of breaching the Garibaldi's back line on Saturday. Forest haven't kept a clean sheet this season, and have shipped nine goals in four games under Postecoglou.

Forest have at least scored in their last three matches under Big Ange and with the firepower they possess, should have no problems in finding the net this weekend.

Double Chance - Nottingham Forest or Draw

I'm tempted to back a home win, but I'll err on the side of caution and go for Nottingham Forest or Draw in the Double Chance market.

Premier League Odds

Forest lost their first two games under Nuno Espirito Santo's successor, but have avoided defeat in their last two, drawing away to Burnley (0-0) and Real Betis (2-2). Those results should stand them in good stead ahead of a visit from Sunderland, who have picked up just a solitary point on their travels this term.

Nottingham Forest vs Sunderland Bet Builder Stats

  • Both teams have scored in three of Forest's and Sunderland's last four games
  • Sunderland are yet to win away this season (D1, L1)
  • Forest have drawn their last two matches
  • Nikola Milenkovic (NFO) averaged 0.8 shots p/g in 2024/25 PL
  • Elliot Anderson (NFO) is averaging three tackles p/g

Nikola Milenkovic (NFO) Total Shots - 1+

Nikola Milenkovic hobbled off in the latter stages of Wednesday's stalemate in Seville, but Postecoglou has played down any fears over the Serbian's involvement this weekend, confirming it was just cramp that had set in against Betis.

The 27-year-old, who averaged 0.8 shots per game in the Premier League last season, should, therefore, start on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Wolves Odds

Milenkovic has only recorded one shot this term, in the 3-0 defeat to West Ham United on August 31, but I'm expecting his numbers to rise in the coming weeks.

Certainly, the former Fiorentina defender looks good for one against Sunderland, who conceded a shot apiece to Palace centre-backs Marc Guehi and Chris Richards in their last away game.

Elliot Anderson (NFO) Total Tackles - 3+

Newly-capped England international Elliot Anderson continues to impress with Forest, and his middle-of-the-park battle with Black Cats captain Granit Xhaka could prove crucial to the result.

The 22-year-old averaged 2.5 tackles per game in the Premier League last season, and after five matches this term, he is averaging three tackles per game.

Today's Football Fixtures

Anderson has recorded 3+ in two of his five appearances, including Forest's last home contest against West Ham on August 31, when he made a whopping seven tackles.
