Newcastle vs Crystal Palace Predictions: Magpies can outscore their visitors

A bumper Sunday of Premier League action sees six games taking place, including Newcastle hosting Crystal Palace at St James' Park (15:00 kick-off, live on Sky Sports Premier League) as Eddie Howe's side look to leapfrog their visitors and climb into the top half.
The Magpies ended a three-game winless streak in the league by easing past Burnley at Turf Moor last time out, while Palace have taken only one point from the last 12 on offer. Below are my Newcastle vs Crystal Palace betting tips, alongside the latest team news and odds for this Premier League clash on Tyneside.

Team news
Emil Krafth, Dan Burn and Jamaal Lascelles remain absent from the Newcastle backline but there is better news for Howe as full-backs Tino Livramento and Kieran Trippier are closing in on returns.
Anthony Elanga and Sven Botman are another pair close to returning but William Osula remains sidelined.
Will Hughes and Eddie Nketiah missed Palace's 1-1 draw against Fulham on New Year's Day but while the former is expected to return for this one, the latter faces an extended period on the sidelines with a hamstring issue.
Ismaila Sarr is at the Africa Cup of Nations and Oliver Glasner counts Daichi Kamada, Daniel Munoz, Rio Cardines, Cheick Doucoure, Chadi Riad and Caleb Kporha amongst those missing in action.
Brennan Johnson came on as a sub against Palace for Tottenham last week but could now debut for his new side.
Newcastle to win & both teams to score @ 12/5
Newcastle's recent Premier League form is a bit patchy, with two wins, two draws and two defeats in six games. They will hope to turn that trend positive against a visiting Crystal Palace side without a victory in six games across league and cups.
Eagles boss Glasner has started to get the reinforcements he wants, with ex-Spurs winger Johnson in the door and that should help.
Seven of Newcastle's last nine Premier League home games have seen both teams' score, while Howe's side are without a clean sheet in a dozen league attempts.
As many as seven of Newcastle's 19 league games have gone over 3.5 goals and this could be another entertaining afternoon for the natives, with the Magpies expected to require more than one goal to seal the victory.

Nick Woltemade to score first @ 7/2
The summer capture of Nick Woltemade has been a positive one for Newcastle. He was the villain of the peace in the derby defeat to Sunderland last month, scoring an own-goal, but showed his character with both goals in the draw with Chelsea a week later.
That took the German international’s tally to 13 goals for club and country since mid-September. He only got a cameo in the win over Burnley last time, coming on after 80 minutes, but should get his place back and the 23-year-old has opened the scoring four times in a Newcastle shirt already.
