Manchester City welcome Leeds United to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon (15:00 BST) hoping to bounce back from their Champions League disappointment in midweek against Bayer Leverkusen.

Leeds are also looking for an upturn in form, having lost five of their six league games away from home this term. Read on for my Manchester City vs Leeds prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

A heavily rotated City side were second best against Leverkusen in midweek, so expect Pep Guardiola to revert back to his strongest XI here.

Gianluigi Donnarumma should replace James Trafford between the sticks and Erling Haaland will be restored up top. Rodri could miss out again due to a hamstring problem, while Mateo Kovacic is the only notable long-term absentee for the hosts.

As for Leeds, they will be without Anton Stach due to concussion protocols after the midfielder's collision with Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez last week.

That apart, Daniel Farke has no injury concerns ahead of Saturday's showdown at the Etihad.

Manchester City vs Leeds Predicted Lineups

  • Manchester City: Donnarumma; Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol, O'Reilly; Gonzalez; Cherki, Silva, Foden, Doku; Haaland
  • Leeds: Perri; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Gudmundsson; Ampadu; Aaronson, Longstaff, Bijol, Okafor; Nmecha

Manchester City vs Leeds Odds

City are 2/9 favourites to bounce back from their Champions League disappointment, giving them an implied win probability of 81.8%, it's 11/2 for the draw and Leeds can be backed at 12/1.

Unsurprisingly, Haaland is favourite to score anytime at 4/9, and if you think both teams will get on the scoresheet, that can be backed at 11/10.

Manchester City vs Leeds Stats

  • Man City have won their last four Premier League games against Leeds
  • City have won 23 of their last 25 Premier League games against promoted sides
  • Leeds have conceded at least once in each of their last nine league outings

Erling Haaland - first goalscorer @ 7/4

This feels like a somewhat personal match-up for Haaland who was born in Leeds and it feels almost inevitable that City's talisman will bag on Saturday. However, backing the Norway international to score anytime offers next to no value at 4/9, so I've opted for the 25-year-old to break the deadlock this weekend.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker has opened the scoring in each of City's last three home league fixtures, and he's remarkably only one goal shy of 100 strikes in the Premier League.

Haaland always looks a sensible pick for a goalscorer bet but I'm tempted by a first goalscorer option this weekend, especially at 7/4.

Man City to win and over 3.5 goals @ 8/5

City have won their last four league encounters against Leeds, scoring 16 goals in the process, so this certainly feels like a game where Guardiola's side can pile on the goals.

The hosts will be eager to bounce back from their disappointing loss against Leverkusen on Tuesday night in the Champions League, so I can very easily envision them putting the visitors to the sword on Saturday.

Putting the loss against Leverkusen aside, City have scored at least three goals in each of their last three home games across all competitions (three versus Liverpool, four versus Borussia Dortmund and three versus Bournemouth), and they're facing a Leeds side that have shipped 22 goals in 11 Premier League outings.
