Leeds vs Wolves Prediction: Bijol to rise high at Elland Road

Leeds United stunned bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday, beating the Red Devils 2-1 to secure their first league win there since 1981 and take a huge step towards Premier League survival in the process.
This Saturday (15:00 BST), the Whites host EFL Championship-bound Wolves, whose second-tier fate could be decided by the end of the weekend, at Elland Road. Below are my Leeds vs Wolves predictions, supported by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Daniel James (muscle), Joe Rodon and Anton Stach (both ankle) are still unavailable for Daniel Farke's Leeds side.
Yerson Mosquera is suspended for Rob Edwards' Wolves after picking up his 10th yellow card of the Premier League campaign against West Ham United last week, while Enso Gonzalez, Leon Chiwome (both knee) and Sam Johnstone (knock) are still sidelined.
Leeds vs Wolves Predicted Lineups
- Leeds: Darlow; Justin, Bijol, Struijk; Bogle, Ampagu, Tanaka, Gudmundsson; Aaronson, Okafor; Calvert-Lewin
- Wolves: Sa; Toti, S. Bueno, Krejci; Tchatchoua, Andre, J. Gomes, H. Bueno; Mane; Armstrong, Arokodare
Leeds, who won September's reverse meeting 3-1 at Molineux, are 8/13 favourites to win on Saturday, implying a 61.9% probability of success, while Wolves are 9/2, or an 18.2% chance, with the draw priced at 3/1.
Leeds vs Wolves Stats
- Bijol (LEE) has shot seven times across his last five PL apps (three starts)
- WOL conceded two goals to WHU defender Mavropanos last week
- Mane (WOL) is averaging 2.1 shots p/90 in 25/26 PL
Anytime Goalscorer - Jaka Bijol @ 7/1
Half (two) of the four goals Wolves conceded to West Ham last time out were scored by Irons centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos, so you can imagine Leeds will be targeting the Old Gold at set-pieces on Saturday.
Whites defender Jaka Bijol has only scored once for the club since joining from Italian side Udinese last summer, striking first in a 3-1 victory over Chelsea at Elland Road on December 3, but he's taken 13 shots from 19 Premier League appearances at an average of 0.8 per 90 minutes.
The Slovenia international missed the target with a header at Old Trafford on Monday, his seventh effort across his last five league matches, despite the first two of those coming as a second-half substitute. Against Manchester City on February 28, he was only introduced in the 87th minute at Elland Road, but headed wide in the 88th, and three days later, once again on home soil, he shot three times against Sunderland, hitting the target twice with headers, despite coming on in the 84th minute.
Clearly, the 6ft3in centre-back is an aerial presence, and after seeing Mavropanos terrorise the Wolves defence last week, he'll be eyeing up some glory for himself on Saturday.

Player to Have 2 or More Shots - Mateus Mane (WOL) @ 11/10
Wolves starlet Mateus Mane was dropped down to the bench for last week’s 4-0 hammering at West Ham, only coming on for Jean-Ricner Bellegarde in the 61st minute, but considering how events unfolded last time out in east London, I’m expecting him to be restored to Edwards’ starting XI at Elland Road.
The 18-year-old, who has been one of few bright sparks in a dismal season for the Old Gold, is averaging 2.1 shots per 90 in the Premier League, recording at least two efforts in eight of his 14 starts.
At 11/10, I think he’s good value to shoot at least twice on Saturday against a side who conceded 20 shots at Man United on Monday, including 11 after Lisandro Martinez’s 56th-minute dismissal for the Red Devils.
